Well, the hype certainly has not died on imdb.

Inception is still #8 of all time on their top 250. TDK is #10.

I'm sure they will both move lower over time, but can't see them dropping out of the top 20 on imdb at least.

And I have yet to come across a more consistent movie ranking than imdb.

Of course you can argue such movies are voted up by fanboys, of which there are plenty for Nolan and Dicaprio, but still.

Anyway, not sure where I was going with that.. i guess point is, Inception was a GREAT movie to me personally, and it seems to many many others as well.

Inception didn't have Batman in it or another super hero in tights. So of course some around here are going to hate. I'm convinced you can throw a cape on a turd and film it and some around here will have it as their avatar and call it the greatest movie ever. :lol

Not true, atleast not for me.

Shawshank Redemption is number 1 on that stupid list and I love that film. Also, The Dark Knight is one of my favorites but I'm not going to deny the fact that it was overrated and blown out of proportion too.

I have reasons for disliking Inception and it ain't because Cobb doesn't wear a batsuit.

^ fair enough, fair enough

Yes perhaps TDK was overrated to an extent, Heath's performance carried the film in many ways - 2.5 yrs hence, I'm starting to see Begins as the better film overall.

But both are classics in my personal list of top movies.

Agreed.

However, Begins was underrated. :(

But that's okay, doesn't change it from being a great film in my eyes. It might just be me, but the internet has had a huge impact on films these days. While that was the case in 2005, it's been more so these past few years. Message boards, forums, online activity and virals can hype even the most mediocre of films.

I remember back in the day when reading something in a magazine was a HUGE deal and the only people you discussed it with really were a few friends and family members.

Now? ____ is everywhere.

^ I like it. It's good to talk about things you love with other people.

But I agree, Batman Begins is amazing, and better then TDK.

I was so blown away when I saw it in the theaters. I expected nothing from it. I saw it because it was Batman...

I walked out of the theater so jazzed.. such a great flick.

The best birthday present I ever had was when my now wife booked out a surprise private screening of Begins for my birthday, invited all my friends and led me to believe we were going to watch some new movie that had come out.. This was Dec 06

Yep, same here. It looked boring to me with all the previews and trailers. I didn't think much about it but HAD to see it because it was Batman and it had been years since I saw Batman on the big screen.

Went in with low expectations and zero spoilers and came out a happy man.

That ending blew me away.

Obviously I'm the minority here, not just because I like Inception but because that movie was pure suit porn.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is _____ing hot.

What the heck?

I was being sincere, that was a great ending. I about lost it when Gordon turned the card around. First time I've come out of the theaters with deep thoughts about "the next one" and seeing Batman vs. Joker again. It totally started the hype for what was then "Batman 2" for me.

What, Gordon handing Batman the Joker card?

And if that was meant to be a sideways insult to Inception, you need to get the ____ out of this thread.

What the hell? Even if he didnt like Inception, he can still discuss it....:dunno

Anyway, the ending was amazing. It's still effective. I just watched it the other day out of bordem. It just has this charm about it. The way the story is told, the non linar aspect of it, it just works. The characters are also better here then in TDK. I still love TDK and all....just, Begins is cooler.

Yes he can. But he has already made it clear that he disliked the ending, and if he was eluding to it again he can GTFO as far as I'm concerned.

I read what he said as "That ending blew me away." Meaning: 'Batman Begins had a great ending unlike a certain other movie directed by Noland.' This is the Inception thread after all.

If I read into it wrongly, then you may all proceed as you were. :peace

I swear I wasn't even thinking that when I was typing that post.

Fair enough.

And yes I liked the ending of Batman Begins. I wouldn't say it "blew me away", but I was jazzed for a sequel.
