I did like that the queen had design elements from Iris, the Kaiju in Gamera v Iris (Gamera 3).

I just thought it was cool that they introduced the concept of a giant Alien Queen. Very original and unique. I also liked that the Queen spent about 10 minutes chasing a random school bus in the desert instead of hunting for the real location of the Sphere.

I can't help but think of mst3k whenever I see Gamera.

"Gamera is really neat, Gamera is filled with meat, we are eating Gam-er-aaaah!

What'd you think of the foot soldiers in Resurgence a-dev? I thought they looked great. I do agree that the superior sequel retro-actively improved the events of the first one jye but I wouldn't say it was elevated to Oscar status.

They were well done. Seeing one climbing out of its bio-suit was cool. Although I'm more about the aerial battles myself - which were much cooler in the first film.

Yup, aerial battles was almost non existent in this, they showed plenty of fighters and bombers but it was all for nothing.

If anything this Drone - Stealth fighter sacrifice nuke delivery sequence was 100x more exciting than anything in ID4R and even ID4 for that matter!

You REALLY CARE about that Stealth fighter and his heroics gives you goosebumps!

Get ready to pump your fist in the air, and wave it like you just don't care!

F-18s against alien ships with shields and lazers > fantasy fighters with shields and lazers against alien ships with shields and lazers. Zero tension in the latter.

It was always dumb that the entire might of the US Air Force/Navy was comprised of nothing but F-18's with Sidewinder missiles designed to take down other small interceptors. They would have barely scratched the alien ships *without* shields. Where were the cruise missiles? Where were all the heavy bombers, F-14's, etc?

Tension on account of stupid tactics doesn't count.
