Agreed. This isn't Greedo shooting first.

And at the end of the day, Raiders of the Lost Ark was always a pretty crummy title anyway. Really, all the titles are kinda lame. The best are Temple of Doom and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I get that they're supposed to be dopey pulp titles right out of the old Saturday matinees. I simply feel that the first and third titles don't capture that spirit as well.

Yeah and "Star Wars" is such a generic title too. I mean I get it - there's some wars going on in the stars - but it's so bland. We all got used to it, but seriously, what a crummy title.

Nathan Fillion is amusing, yes, and we've established that I am firmly in the minority when I suggest that Raiders of the Lost Ark is a weak title.

Now can someone actually make a point in defense of the title?

'Cause in the meantime, I am left to assume everyone is blinded by nostalgia.

I never thought of it either way. I never said " Oh, dear me , what an atrocious title!!!" but on the flip side I never said " Wow!! The title...amazing..* chokes back tears*...just...wow." either. It's a title, it fits, I moved on.

It's a great title. They are raiders. And they raid for the lost ark. So...uh...what's the problem?

You can tell what the plot is by the title. Perfect title.

Just got back from the IMAX show. The picture may not have been 100% true IMAX but overall it still KICKED ASS. Loved every second of it, I am so glad I went. Only bad thing is they must have run out of posters because I didn't see any. :(

Then you might as well include A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back as weak titles as well :lol

A new hope is weak (it was originally and always will be star wars) Empire has always rocked as a title!

So I have seen the 11 x 17 posters and why do some have the IMAX Exclusive logo on the bottom right corner and others have the blu-ray release picture in the corner? Were the IMAX ones the ones in theaters and the blu-rays you could get other places?

The marathon is the big poster + lanyard, confirmed by my local theatre. Can't wait til next Saturday, going for Raiders and ToD, may stick around for TLC too. They may as well not even bother playing CS.

I bought my ticket online for the Indy marathon tomorrow. I'm really excited to see them in the theater again. There are some parts in TLC I really enjoy too. I got the smaller 11" x 17" poster in this week. The circular "Imax collectible" sticker sadly covers up Mark Raats signature for his great art on the poster. Very "Drew Struzan" like art. I love it.

It looks like on Mark's website that the advertisement for the Indy doesn't cover up his signature on the bigger poster.

It'll be cool to get the larger one-sheet sized poster tomorrow. I wonder what the lanyard looks like. I can post pictures of the poster and lanyard tomorrow night after I get in from the marathon.

I plan on wearing my Indy - The Last Crusade t-shirt with the great Drew Struzan advance poster art on it, and possibly my Indy fedora I got from the Star Wars site years ago.

To me the title revision is as inconsequential as adding Episode IV to Star Wars.
