I kind of see what you mean here, i really admire lots of the older SS figures in the Horror lines and Star Wars, the buck doesn't even bother me with these since most of them were well done, the bodies were reliable atleast.

Back in the pre-Star Wars days, with the exception of the occasional dud, what you saw in the proto pics was pretty much what you got in hand. It wasn't until the Star Wars line started that the production quality began to vary so wildly.

Trevor did do a new sculpt for this, so if you could prise the hat off and replace it with a fedora, it might make for an interesting variation on the adventure head, for a LC version perhaps:dunno

The problem with using this head with the fedora is how far the hair is sculpted down on the sides. I think it might look a little funny.

i am not so sure i hate this figure now. i saw one on ebay forsale.. being sold with something else. the way they had it posed it was nice looking.i think i will wait until i get the subject in hand before i slaughter it.

Just got home. First impression: He's great! The coat is not green--more like very very faded green khaki, like it's been washed one too many times. My photos are not showing the real color at all. The bazooka is scaled perfectly. I just bought a Russian RPG for KOTCS Indy, and they're exactly the same length. The only difference is the bomb itself--the German Indy one is very small compared to the Russian RPG one, but I think it's accurate to the movie. The outfit is very nice. The pro body is ehh. It's not exactly loose. It's just a little spring-y, particularly in the torso. His left arm bicept joint was pretty much immovable. I had a hell of a time trying to get it to move.

Flosi, here's a side by side with the ROTLA head. They are about the same size, but I think it's the paint apps that make the German Indy face seem bigger. Or really it's the poor paint apps in the ROTLA Indy that make that face look smaller.

Here are some quick shots:

And here's the RPG side by side with the Russian RPG:

And the face is molded in a skin tone, with a translucent look. It's matte, not shiny like ROTLA Indy. Looks much more natural. And the paint apps are nice and subtle--just enough to define the features and stubble.

I am 100% happy with my purchase.

I sure hope the tunic is a green color and not the brown I see in the pics. The figure looks okay but the color I'm seeing on my pc is so very off.

Check out the comparrison pics of the real rocket launcher and the SS version. A couple of parts have come off the original but you can sure make out the scale and that it is incorrect in several spots.

I'm not just dissing on it for the sake of it, it is fact. Once again they go just a step below what they should have and as it looks, they did not do the correct research. And if they did, they didn't apply it here. Hell, you can even see the yellow stripe in the film on the rocket. Why leave it out? Cost?

I got this one for my collection but most likely won't be displaying it. It is kind of an odd figure to begin with. Still, it's Raiders related and I'm glad to have it rather than not even if Sideshow continues to reiterate their lack of dedication to detail. I am however, very happy for all of you who can look past these shortcomings and love your figure.

Like Jim I really am happy with this figure. The uniform and headsculpt are both really good. Sure it should have had a hatless head but thats what I have the hatless Indy head from the ROTA Adventure figure for.

For those interested, the cap comes off quite easily and a fedora from the original sculpt fits right on, no mods needed... Makes for a great alternative sculpt.

In fact, I prefer it.
