IF they make a LC Indy PF I would prefer the MP-40 as well but I'd rather get a Henry Jones PF. TOD was their chance to give Indy the whip and they dropped the big rolling ball.

Seriously, think about that for a second... We'd have multiple Indiana Jones statues from Sideshow, but not a single one could be displayed with him using his whip. INDIANA JONES. That says it all right there in a nutshell, does it not?

Raiders should have been the one with the whip. Oh well, maybe they will make a variant PF. bwhahahahaha

An obvious issue with a PF scale statue using the whip would be the size.... think about it... at a minimum the whips used in the film started at 8 feet long.. ( various length whips were used)... in PF scale that is at least a two foot long piece for the whip's body.. you still have to add the length of the cracker and fall at the end) this would be a very thin diameter piece (i.e. fragile) plus awkward to display depending on how the whip is styled/shaped in action....

If it's a wire whip like the 1:6 figures we could coil it into any pose we wanted.

For all of Cinemaquette's faults when it comes to human pieces, they did seem to get Indy's whip right. :gah:

LC would pretty much have to come with the Machine Gun, aside from the Tie, there isn't much else to set him apart, which means this ToD PF was probably the last chance to give us Indy with an uncoiled whip. :gah:

Incidentally, that would be on the PF for the film in which he uses the whip the least out of the 4, by far. :slap

I'm not so sure about that. In TOD he uses his whip for maybe 30 seconds of screen time total. TLC can't be much less than that, if at all. And two of the three Indy PF's feature him holding the whip, even if it is coiled.

The TOD PF shows him wielding the iconic weapon from that movie; the machete. He only holds the whip and machete together for a few seconds in the whole movie. I realize the inclusion of the Sankara stone is an artistic liberty but the stones are TOD's Ark of the Covenant. Of course there's a good reason to incorporate them as an optional part of the display. If you don't like him holding the stone, remove it and pretend he's about curl his empty hand into a fist.

:banghead Holding the whip and using it are two completely different things. Quit drinking the Sideshow Indy Kool-Aid and remember what makes the character so great and unique (hint: you have to think differently than they do for a minute). I know you do.

And, yes, he does use the whip a lot less in TLC. In fact, he only uses it a total of 2 times (when he swings into Henry Sr's room at the castle and later when he prevents Henry from falling off the tank... the Young Indy opening does not count). In TOD, he uses it more: In the temple when the guard attacks him in his room, during the escape into the mines, and at the end when he actually uses it to lasso the girl. Not a lot, but certainly more (and more notably) than in TLC.

Of course, he uses the whip most in RAIDERS...

But, hell, I'd buy another RAIDERS PF if it's him kicking ass with the most iconic weapon (and the second most identifiable item -- fedora being first) that the character has. :lol

Indy's hat and whip are what make him Indy... :dunno

Not a machete he uses for one scene. They may as well have given him the empty bucket he hits Pat Roach with.

Now, I'll admit that the machete is cool and kinda iconic toward TOD (but mostly because of the teaser one-sheet and marketing, not because of that one moment in the film). And I don't mind that the TOD PF focuses on that. It is kinda neat and definitely says "TEMPLE OF DOOM".

But what tears my hide is that we're probably going to end up with FOUR different Indy PFs (at least three)... without a single one featuring him using the whip. That is crazy. That's like making multiple Vaders without even one of them him weilding the lightsaber. :slap

But you're right, when it comes to Indy it's the hat & whip way above all else. Then again, Sideshow once thought people would actually want an extra hatless head for their ROTLA Indy PF. :lol :gah:

Exactly. Or Freddy without a glove or Michael Myers without a knife.

Well, to be perfectly fair, it's like they have their weapons...but just aren't using them, since he does have the whip and all.

Admittedly, the poses for the first two were much more relaxed of course, so using the whip wasn't even close to the idea. TOD is the first action pose. I'd predict a action pose for LC as well, just to keep it kinda balanced. I like how TOD and LC have the bigger variations in the costumes. Jacketless in TOD and he has a snazy tie (which would look pretty cool) in LC.

As an Indy fan (who sadly can't afford this line and doesn't have space for it anyway), this piece is growing on me a lot. I think of the machete as being iconic for ToD and the pose is great. I have issues with the way he's holding the stone as has been mentioned (it looks goofy and awkward), but overall I think the piece is great and a good representation of ToD.

Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

(And the EX is awesome.)

That is pretty much exactly how I feel about it, too. I even love the Exclusive. :duff
