Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I'm sceptical too "thenammagazine". Just hoping Sideshow isn't blowing hot air to keep people buying the leftovers.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

"Are we getting any more Indiana Jones 1/6th figures anytime soon?

SideshowBrock: More will come, but not in the next few months..."

This quote is from the Fantacular chat log that I got in Sideshow's email today.
I guess there's a better chance that we'll see more 1/6 figures now. Hopefully this line is back from the dead.

That was my question. Know this. And live it. Embrace my question powers.

More will come, but not in the next few months…

Take it for what it's worth, but "more will come" sounds very good to me.

Nice work CelticP :rock

While that does sound nice, this other one sounds less nice :(

Will we ever see Marion Ravenwood from you guys? In ANY format?
Just to cut to the chase… currently, she’s not on the schedule.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

In your humble opinion.

My opinion is always humble. :lol
I can see why others would want a lot of figures from this line but judging from its lukewarm reception, I would say they are in the minority. However, it could just be crappy character selection on SSC's part.

Oh don't be modest!

SS definitely pulled a "Hasbro" with this line. They should've started with what the masses wanted, and then slowly faded to the more obscure characters. They possibly could've even turned some casual collectors into completionists that way, too.

But hey...I got an Indy...which is more than I could say when the original 3" Raiders line was out, so...I'm a happy camper.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I hope we do see more from this line ! I see it as imcomplete until we see Mola Ram, TOD and TLC Indy , Marion Ravenwood, Marcus Brody, Walter Donovan, Col. Detrietch , Col. Vogel and Sallah .

Henry Sr looks Lonley w/o TLC Indy.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

Well, I'm a little bit hopeful. They flat-out said "no" to Marion, but said there would be more figures coming. They could have kept it vague with Marion if they were just lying and stringing us along...

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I think they are in the process of working with Hot Toys to do a Temple of Doom Indy and Ram. Maybe even a Short Round. They've hinted before that they might come in bnuches so I would think maybe in a couple of months we'd see a Temple figure and then maybe the other two over a couple of month period. After that maybe it'll be a break and then Crusade Indy or something. I wouldn't mind a figure or two a year if that's what they had to do to keep it going.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I think they should just give all of their 1:6 licenses to HT.

I think they should just push a little bit harder. They are SO close, IMO. They just don't seem to take the time to make sure they dot their i's and cross their t's. We get some sloppy paint apps, loose figures, out of scale heads...These are all kinda minor, but when the figures are so close to being perfect, these problems get amplified. They just need to make that little added effort and ensure that their QC is being extra strict and OCD when reviewing their products.

I have faith that they'll get there. We've already seen some vast improvements from their earliest releases. I recently got a GoldenEye Bond and I was surprised at the lower quality of the figure. The joints were loose (it was NRFB), the hand sculpts were terrible (thank goodness they changed them) and the paint was horribly dark on his face and hands. The clothing was also so-so.

Yeah, even though Indy was the only must for me in this line, I would have sprung for a Cairo Swordsman, German Mechanic, Mola Ram, Marion, Thugees, etc... But Toht and Belloq, eh. Chalk it up to wasted momentum. Plus I think the wait on the original Indy killed some of the initial buzz, as well. It was delayed several times.

Not to mention all the issues with the lines flagship figure.... If the first release is weak you're going to lose a lot of potential buyers down the road, and that's what happened here.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I'm not sure why they are so against doing a Marion figure. Most Raiders fans would pick this up in a heartbeat. No Marion is a major problem for me personally. Talk about a gaping hole in the line.
I guess Sideshow will just keep giving us different versions of Indy to save on production costs.
They may have done a 1/6 Mola headsculpt while they were doing the Mola PF so I guess there's a chance of seeing a 1/6 version. I'm not holding my breath though.
They may get my $$$ for one more Indy with a better paint app/sculpt. I'm going to need the jacket with a TOD figure too. If Sideshow is going to short change us on the accessories for a TOD figure and charge the same amount, it will be a big let down for me.
