This thread was started almost a year ago. It's been a year with nothing new announced.

Sideshow would look ridiculously stupid at this point if they end up not producing a Short Round and Mine Cart after saying they're in development, but quite frankly it's unprecedented that a line could survive this long with no new figures. After this long of a wait, the Buffy and LOTR fans will be point at Indiana Jones and pout. Considering I'd be one of those pouters. . . .

Awesome to hear that the Indy line still breaths! Short Round was a great character and I can't wait to get the figure (poorly painted or not).

Glad to get word that they are planning to continue with the Indy 12" line with Short Round. I hope that they continue with some other characters before they do another Indy, like a Mola Ram or an Irina Spalko.
Of course, Indy is the main draw but maybe they could focus on a River Phoenix Indy instead of another Ford piece.

You guys are getting way too excited for a brief mention where they actually say it's basically way down the road. And they've been hinting at Mola Ram since the line began and still no Mola. I'm sure Mola and Shorty were developed -- in some form, sculpt at least -- when this line started in 2008, but I'm not sure what they're waiting for in terms of hype to justify a sudden offering. Maybe Lucas is gonna 3-D Indy as well or there's some new 4 pack DVD release coming to build on.

For now, I have zero expectation for new Indy 1/6th figures beyond what I can make with my own two hands.

You know it's bad when Wor-Gar has no hope. :monkey1

Yeah I don't put much faith in Sideshow's Q&A's anymore. They're about as useless as Barrack Obama's administration.

Your jokes are terrible. AND that's a piss poor analogy, I'll never understand someone who ____s on SSC on a SSC (unofficial) forum. :huh

Actually sounds pretty on the ball to me. Sideshow seems to have mastered the art of saying what we want to hear, without actually promising anything. Sounds like politics to me

Exactly why it's a poor analogy. unlike the obama administration, Sideshow's not constantly getting ____-blocked by the rapeublicans.

Bad jokes aside, I can't think of a better place for criticism directed at Sideshow. We all know Sideshow reads posts from this site (at least some) but even the most constructive criticism get's deleted if made on a thread on Sideshow's site. This forum helps to make them face the issues, instead of just deleting them.

Why do you have a problem with this? Should we all just tow the company line and not voice dissatisfaction with either their products or method of operating?

Temple indy on a borrowed Hot toys Wolverine body i'll bet. they've talked about using hot toys muscle bodies before.

and WOOOOOT on Short round.

ANY movement on the 1:6 scale line of Indy is most welcome news!
And yes, I'd hope that Sideshow would consider a crossover collaboration with Hot Toys on that "muscle" body for TOD Indy. They've had great success with HT regarding the SW clones... It could be amazing...and I agree with Darth Neil...the difference in quality between the ROTLA Indy and the KOTCS Indy head sculpts is like night and day...I do like them both, but that KOTCS version is just fantastic...here's hoping the TOD version is of that high quality too.

As for Shorty...wouldn't the hobbit body work for him? And considering his small stature, is it fair to assume that a good group of accessories (or an environment piece) could be forthcoming?

Good to have some fuel for fresh speculation again for this line....

I doubt they'd use Hot Toys' existing body. If they were willing to do that, then they shouldn't even have bothered with the Prometheus, it's still inferior to the TrueType.

I'm sure they're developing their own muscle body. They're probably making it even more modular so they can put some of the bigger parts back on the Pro to bring THAT back into proper scale.

except that they have talked, publicly at comi-con, and in q&A's about using the hot toys muscle bodies in the past

They're not just going to outright use another company's body for their figure. If they were going to straight up put the Indiana Jones head on the Wolverine/Perseus/Saizo body. . . why even bother?? That's what the customizers are doing. We are probably going to see a Pro with a sculpted chest and arms.

And just for shirts and giggles, I went through the Q&A archives to see when they've talked about using a Hot Toys muscle body, and the only time was the infamous "pause" announcement. It's not mentioned in any of the chat logs at SDCC, either.

Someone back me up on this please. I don't feel like digging through the chats right now.

it was something they said they had considered was licensing the bodies from HT as a cost-saving venture. This is NOT surprising, considering how much in love TMWP was with the Rocky figures.

Personally, i'd rather they not, and just stick with the Pro 1.1, and 1.2

This is where I remember reading it:

You’ll see a pause in the Indiana Jones 12-inch line after Henry Jones. Our development team is in the midst of evaluating TOD characters (including Indy) for production, including considerations like collaboration with Hot Toys for muscle bodies. It may take us some time to fully answer this question, but it is an active discussion.

Well, the obama administration can pass whatever they want to with their majority and even had a filabuster proof majority at one point. If they can't get something through, probably because some in their own party don't want to vote for it either. So they are kinda like Sideshow, they can do whatever they want. The Indiana Jones property is too popular not to have future collectibles. Either Sideshow or a company like Hot Toys will make something. It will come.

I may be deluding myself, but I'm very excited about Short Round. Although I will say that if they make Willie but not Marion, I will be upset.
