Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

if by chance sideshow did just do certain 12inch and then jjust did statues and diorama's. i would only want hot toys to do there version of the perfect rotla indiana jones and marion and sallah. no need to recapture everything sideshow had already done.

Not sure I'd want to re-start a line at $180 a figure.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

Most HT figures are between $115 and $135 so I'd be happy to grab a few Indy figures from them. I'd even buy a HT ROTLA Indy.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

Depends on license and demand though, with LFL, I'd bet a low cost HT figure would be $150 with more complex ones falling somewhere between that and $200.

My guess, HT Raiders Indy would be about $165.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

They used to be. $150-$190 seems to be the range now.

I don't know. Attack from mars at under $110, the amazing HT Apes are $112 and the Terminator figures have been $135 and under and most others have been under $150. There's only a few breaching the $150 mark lately.

I think HT could do an awesome Indy for under $150.

Like Maulfan said, it depends on the license. Look at the Wolverine figure, it comes with nothing and goes for something like $160-$170.

Yeah that's true. Definitely depends on the license. I think what's driving Wolverines price up is the new HT body. He's definitely a nice looking figure for $155 though.

Then you've got a figure like Blade who's loaded with stuff and is about as perfect as a 1:6 figure could be and he's going for less than $145.

I've sunk over $75 more in my $90 Indy figure so far and I just think HT could have done it near perfect for $150. SS does a fair job with most of there 1:6 offerings, especially the Joe line, but I just think they could have stepped it up for Indy...I wish they would have.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

Man, now you've got me thinking about an HT DX Indy with PERS and all that good stuff. :drool Price be damned, I'd sell a kidney for that.

We're also not talking about just any license, but an LFL license. Those licenses seem to drive a higher rate than most others. I'm betting this goes hand in hand with the SW license, so unless SS lets it go or gives it to HotToys, it's highly unlikely.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

JOE will be next on the chopping block. Just a matter of time. That will end before tons of characters people actually want will be made. This is becoming the standard M.O. in Sideshow 12" lines.

SW and Joe aren't in any danger - both are doing extremely well. It might actually be a curse for any other 1/6. Indy can't come close to being as successful, so it doesn't get the same focus that those 2 lines get.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I'm happy with everything except for Belloq. Love my PF.
Sad to see it go but I at least have some cool figs.
Looking forward to the idol still.

Will save some money now.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

Club Obi-Wan (White Tux) Indy was in design/prototyping at one point. I was really looking forward to that one. :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

If that's true then that's extra terrible news. It shows that they were actively working on figures and decided to stop and cut their losses. That would have been a great figure with the Nurhachi urn, the diamond, the antidote, skewer with flaming chickens, gun and possibly the gong and sword for the exclusive.

Honestly, if I had to narrow it down to the absolute barest of essentials for my own collection, I would just want an "ultimate" Indy for Last Crusade and Temple. The Ultimate Temple Indy would have any and all artifacts from the movie, and perhaps even the extra tux outfit. And the same with Last Crusade Indy--although Henry already has all the good Last Crusade swag. I love the KOTCS Indy how he has all the great stuff from the film, even the Nazca dagger and Orellana mask which were just barely in the movie. I would want that same treatment with the other two movies.

That would leave me satisfied with the line: having each of the four Indy figures fully representing the specific movie he's from. That's pretty much what they seem to be doing with the PFs. They create one statue that's representative of the movie.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I agree. They should at least finish out an Indy from each movie.

What they should have done is:

Raiders:

Indy, Marion (white dress), Belloq

TOD:

Indy, Short Round, Mola Ram

LC:

Indy, Henry, Grail Knight (Sorry, Donovan is not that interesting to me a 1/6 th figure)

KOTCS:

Indy, Mutt, Spalko

Bonus Three Pack (you know, like the Emperor 2 Pack):

Marcus, Sallah, Professor Jones/Doctor Jones (meaning Indy from Raiders with the maps and the big Bible: "What do I want see them for, what am I, in trouble?')

I know, I know: "Keep Dreaming"

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

We're also not talking about just any license, but an LFL license.

And with Star Wars, there's a history of being able to sell almost anything with the name and characters on it, so LFL knows its license will give whoever has it some good financial return so I'm sure they charge more for the license rights than most rights holders because they're know they're sitting on a money maker. I don't think Indy could ever be like that, but being an LFL property, they'd probably still charge the same fees, especially if one company is buying both, they'd look like asses to overcharge on Star Wars and go cheap on Indy.

Exactly why I believe if HT had the Indy license, it would be at the higher, if not the highest end of their pricing scheme, somewhere consistent with the Predators. Yes it's high price, but it's also guaranteed greenbacks. If Medi's fetching $180 a piece at what they have to offer, HT could easily justify $200.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

You guys are probably right about the price of an HT Indy. I wasn't considering the cost of the license.

He'd probably be close to DX prices.

I'd gladly buy a DX Indy because it would be the most realistically superior Indy figure ever made and make Sideshow's look like Toys mcCoy. :gun

Most Indy fans would probably spend the price on Indy himself if they were to get the ultimate Raiders Indy, but outside of that, even if the quality was there, I question if Belloq's and Toht's would really move at those prices.

I think they'd likely give the line 3 figures, Adventure Gear Indy, Henry Sr., and Mola Ram. All would be decent sellers as well, but they wouldn't go any further than that. Though, if they just visited TOD to fill in the gap, which would be cool, I think we'd only see 2, Indy and Mola. But that'd probably sting at around $180 a piece.
