Dude, seriously......

This movie will be great or not... but I say it shouldn't be judged until it is viewed. Take any odd pic from any movie and you might think that the movie is going to suck, but that does NOT make it so.

This is just like the Bond crap I had to wade through for months before the movie came out. Only to see the movie and be blown away. Let the movie speak for itself when it's out and on the screen.... :monkey1

Exactly. Well said. I hate eMasturbation - which is all speculation like this is. :monkey1

I agree... but lets not give it a pass, as a lot of you are.

"I can't wait" is not being non-judgemental

Um....yes it is. :monkey4

Saying that I cannot wait to see it, does not indicate that my mind is already made up about whether it will be good or not. It just means that I can not wait to see if it IS good, and that I am excited to do so. No need to get nasty about it

:joy

Well I can see J-Jom's point. If you are excited about something you are obviously anticipating something pleasurable.

But that being said, I haven't seen any comments that just flat out assume this is going to be THE BEST MOVIE EVER. But on the other hand I have seen alot of nay saying against it based on one set of pictures. Which to me is pretty unreasonable.

Not being nasty.. sorry if you misinterperted it. We are all entitled to our own opinions. Sorry.

Thanks Pix!

Thats what I was trying to articulate.

And you're entitled to that opinion. Fortunately, I'm entitled to mine as well. I don't see anything at all "un-Indy like" about it.

As far as the kid, that is a greaser to you? The guy in American Graffitti --THAT was a greaser, this guy reminds me of the kid in bad news bears, he looks too small for to be riding that bike. :lol
Your profile doesn't say how old you are, but if your best example of a greaser is American Graffiti, I suspect you're probably a bit younger than I am. I can assure you, I know what real greasers look like. When I was a young boy, there were real live greasers living right in my neighborhood, one even right across the street from my home.

But, it is pretty clear that you have written this movie off, so I don't really understand why you bother searching for news about it.

RoboDad, pjam happens to be one of the biggest Indy fans on this board. Like me, however, he is very *ahem* "concerned" about the direction this two-decades overdue installment in the beloved franchise is taking.

I know we're not the only ones thinking "I have a very bad feeling about this" at this point.

The problem with that, though, is that anticipating something doesn't imply that we are conditioning ourselves to like it. If anything it causes us to have very high expectations, and the movie had better deliver, or I will be anything BUT happy with it.

So far, I haven't seen anything to cause me to worry, so why should I criticize it? If anything, the very pictures that are causing some people such distress are actually getting me more excited to see the finished product.

Then don't go see it. I don't know how else to say it. Harrison Ford is older. Nothing can change that. The filmmakers chose not to try to hide it under make-up or CGI effects, but rather to make it an integral part of the story. And, as such, that forces the movie's timeline into the 1950's, where there were actual greasers.

If that is such an affront, then just pretend the new movie doesn't exist. You can't reverse time and create the sequel you want (the "two-decades overdue" one), so I don't really see the point in focusing so much attention and anger on what you can't change.

This is the movie that is being made. Now. Today. With a sixty-five-year-old actor. What else you have them do?

This is true...

I have been defending Harrison pretty much all along by the way, I just hope it's a good film...

Speak for yourself Robo. You don't speak for me.

I know writers who have contributed to this Picture as well as others who are working on it. I work in the Film Industry and wish for all movies to be successful. Commenting/having a little fun with one image is just that, a comment on an image that didn't work for me, not a film in its entirety and for anyone to claim anything else is pure absurdity. Anyone who has read my previous Indy posts (in context) knows that. It's "pretty clear" you haven't.

I'll reserve judgment when I see the final cut and as I have said I am not buying into the Film or discounting it until then.

Just curious, can someone name me another action-adventure film where the lead actor is 65 years old?

Terminator 3
Rambo 4
Never Say Never Again
Live Free or Die Hard

Maybe they weren't 65 on the nose, but it felt like it.

The actual ages of the lead actors in these movies during filming:

So, if those all felt like 65 to you, you must be pretty young. ;)

I stand corrected, and I apologize. I lumped you in with the other camp, pjam, and I was wrong to do so.

No worries Robo and thanks. We all want Indy to be Indy... and many of us commented on this first still of Harrison wearing the hat on set, and he looked like Indy to me, just older, but this was Indy, for sure...

No, I'm not young. I'm old enough to have seen Jaws in the theater. :)

I'm not saying those films were bad... I just listed some movies I remember where people were talking about the aging lead.

Everyone needs to remember that Indy had two sides. The nerdy teacher side and the adventurous archaeologist side. (Though the nerdy side seemed to attract better looking girlies.. Margot Kidder... Blechhhhhhh :yuck)
