If you ask me, Ford transforms into an entirely different actor when he's in character as Indy. I love the guy, but he's usually pretty one-note (even as Han Solo). But the INDY flicks (and Spielberg) really bring out the best in him. And since Spielberg is at the peak of his game right now (particularly in directing actors) I don't see why this one will be any different.

I hope you're right.

But there is an obvious difference in Ford's performance as Indy from Raiders to Doom to Crusade... and much of the wonderful atmosphere that made the first one so good is gone; style is lacking (no more shadows on the wall); attention to detail and logic appears to have a "who cares" attitude (Indy's strap that sometimes traps him on the tank drives me nuts). Each one seems to get "lazier" than the last. I hope its been long enough now (18 years) that there's a new sense of fun that comes with making another Indy for everyone.

I just read this, regarding real stunts VS. CGI:

Marshall and Spielberg wanted to shoot the fourth "Indiana Jones" movie in the same style as the first three.

"Steven is very aware of the process and we're not cheating with CG (computer graphics) at all," Marshall said. "It keeps the B movie feel."

Sorry guys, I just don't know what to say after seeing this... is this the Indy you know, love and remember? Riding on the BACK of a Bike with some scrawny kid dressed up as a greaser driving?

Well, it's tru short round drove Indy too but something about this image bugs me and a lot of others. I guess a little kid driving is funny... this just looks a little pathetic to me.

Well Indy does look a bit like Scooby Doo in that pic. :lol

I don't have any problems with the "greaser" Shai Lebouf driving an older Indy on his motorcycle. Like I said earlier in this thread, I am going into the movie with an open mind, and no prejudices about it. I am not prejudging a movie before I have even seen it. I'll always be a HUGE Indy fan no matter if he is the Indy from Raiders, or the Indy as he looks now. Harrison Ford will always be Indy in my eyes, even now as he has naturally aged. I'll always admire and respect him as my all-time favorite actor. There's my two cents... :D

Yep, that's the Indy I know. But then, I'm not going into the movie with false expectations about Indy still being 35 years old. He's just as I would expect him to be, and it is actually refreshing to see that the filmmakers aren't trying to pretend that he is younger than he is. And in the context of the movie, that isn't some kid dressed up as a greaser, that is a greaser.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. It's sad that some people won't allow themselves to do the same.

I'm enjoying the anticipation... and I will until May 2008. I have a feeling the anticipation will be the best part of this experience.

I hope not though (see my avatar).

I'm not buying into this Film beforehand or discounting it, just thought that image was very un-Indy like taken from that angle...

As far as the kid, that is a greaser to you? The guy in American Graffitti --THAT was a greaser, this guy reminds me of the kid in bad news bears, he looks too small for to be riding that bike. :lol

I have been defending Harrison pretty much all along by the way, I just hope it's a good film...

The stuff that people are having issues with already leads me to surmise that they are simply pre-programming themselves to hate this flick.

I mean, you'd think the motorcycle photo was an affront to mankind or something. Good Christ Almighty.

Yeah, really. I can't stand when people have prejudices about a movie...that's not even finished filming yet! I will go in and enjoy it. This is the Indy I was expecting too. Harrison ages just like the rest of us do. Lord knows I'm not 18 anymore! I'm twice that age now! Man...I'm feeling old already! :lol

Yeah but you guys are preprograming yourselves to like this movie...

It's the same thing. Half empty... Half full...

You're one type or another!
