You are pretty dumb if you get into this hobby because you want a return somewhere down the line. Nothing in this hobby is guaranteed even if it is super limited now and selling for a lot, 10 years from now maybe no one cares anymore and you can get it for less than what it cost originally.

Immediate flipping or even waiting and flipping in a year or so probably works great but anything beyond that, you should invest your money in something else.

I agree with what you are saying here. However I also expect an element of truth in advertising. A L.E. of 300 should be a L.E. of 300. End of story. And as far as flipping goes, I've probably got S.S. pieces that are older than you are. :lol

I didn't know SSC was around in the 80's? :)

Isn't the international version different. Consider the fact that we international collectors pay on average 25% more due to shipping, import duties so throwing us the odd bone with these international additions is welcome.

I do agree that the versions should be sufficently different to distinguish them.

It isn't different at all.

Now do you see why some people have a problem with it?

Hell, if they DID change something, most people would probably be excited about it instead of being upset. All it would have taken were different colored shoes or base, or even a different colored wristband like we initially thought.

If they made the ES 425 from the beginning and set aside 125 for international customers, no one would have a problem. No one is trying to shaft international collectors. We understand the financial plight that goes with collecting SS overseas. But that isn't really the issue with this.

===================

Here is another scenario you should all consider: Those who own them all love their "grail" pieces. How would the guy with the Aliens 1:1 bust feel about an "international edition" variant (with no actual variant characteristics) being released right now?

Maybe you should adopt your signature and post less crap and more quality.:D

That would probably explain why I have about a hundred posts since 2005 compared to your 2000. Still waiting for your response on the "hiding behind a keyboard" quip, "Bullseye".

:D

Absolutely if they are identical then you would have reason to be angry. I have the Spidey 1:1 regular before the international silver eye version was released but at least it was different. Same with the Scar face 1:1. Maybe you guys should cancel it and vote with your wallets.

2000 posts since 2005 is nothing. I am a mere amateur compared to some of these guys.

I believe it's too late for people to cancel, unless they have it on Flexpay.

So we've established that the International Edition is only marginally different. We've established that I don't try to hide behind a keyboard, and it's an imbecilic [sp] accusation coming from "Bullseye". While I am certain that my postings which disagree with your wisdom qualifies them as crap in your eyes, it does look as if my "crap bandwidth" is about 5% of yours.

By the way, before someone plays a bigot card, I'm of Irish descent so I'm entitled to take whatever pokes I want. :naughty :chug

All this ^^^^ cause our friends in the other side of the world got a chance to own this awesome piece. it seems to me most of you have forgotten why you collect. worrying about a stupid number instead of an awesome collectible. Some say its about $$$ well Sideshow is a company like any other that makes money:horror OMG! Second i think its messed up how you are all pissed and you shouldnt you should be happy for our European friends :monkey4 and i mean its 125 more of the Reg one. its not the Ex. one and second its not like they made 1000 more it was only 125! man! sure know how to suck the fun out of collecting:monkey4

The only reason it kinda irritates me is the fact that the original PZ had an es of 300 and so did the regular pf. Granrted, the international version has its own es, but sideshow could have just as easily set aside 100 or so of the regulars since they sat in stock for a couple weeks. I really just wish that they would have made a real difference between the two.

Yeah ol' Jeff has issues alright.

But what do you expect from someone who has a lifetime subscription to...

"Multiple Logins and Accounts",lol, sounds like several members here have read that article and put it to use.

Wow. Why all the hate toward Pitu? He is not employed by Sideshow. He does what he does because he loves it. He's the definition of 'kid at heart'. And how on earth does Pitu have anything to do with the Patient Zero International Edition??

Anyway, I suppose many of you remember the issue with Dr. Doom a few years ago? When the edition size was upped after the fact, due to a mistake processing manual orders taken at Comic-Con? (and that was the EXCLUSIVE edition)

This time, instead of upping the edition size (which, by the way, has not hurt the secondary market value of the Exclusive Doom AT ALL), they made a new edition to appease their international distributors. Yes, THAT is why it was done, no matter what conspiracy theorists would like to believe... does anyone REALLY think it was done only for the MONEY?? In the grand scheme of Sideshow's yearly business, 125 extra Patient Zeros is a pretty minute amount of cash (and you have to remember that distributors don't even pay retail price for them). Think of it as another form of customer service and going the extra mile - only this time the customer is not a specific individual, but their very important global distribution partners. And that's all I've got to say about this :duff
