I can't believe it's sold out at Sideshow right now! I wish they processed them today but I can wait till Monday! I can't wait to have him in my collection!

Well the Emma PF was sold out at sideshow til a week ago too. Probably using the same 'it's sold out' strat to garner interest in the piece. I think they did the same thing with the IM 1:1 bust.

Yep. No chance whatsoever that extra stock will be "found" in a warehouse and appear later as a "second chance" buying opportunity. Sideshow would never stoop to cheap tricks like that to artificially drive up demand. . .no siree.

2000 regs sold out...I call BS...

Whoa, those comiquettes certainly dropped in price.

I guess they have...... It may also be due to this shipping soon and all the recasts out there. Its hard to predict the market value on these things nowadays....

All i know is I get to keep a lot more cash in my pockets for a piece that I've been wanting for a long time.

Well that's a very nice pickup and price, I think people are just excited for the maquette which also has light up function. :rock

Its also the economy man. I may have a chance to pick up an old Hulk PF that I wanted to get but too high a price. Low n behold, an ebay auction bought it close to what I am willing to pay.

Here a new batch of pics. Again my favourite close up shot :wave

hey man, can you weigh in on how the gold looks in person?

Looking at the pics, it seems a tad brighter and lighter than the mark III.

I saw it at a LCS but it was under yellow light. It didn't seem to have the polished look i was expecting.

what say you?

God that looks so cool in the pics. I am so glad I decided to switch things around and get this well before November.

:drool:drool:drool I want a green hulk PF.... I decided to get the grey PF not too long due to the release of the comiquette. Congrats on your purchase. :hi5: Looks like its a good time to pick up some grails.

Back to the IM maquette, i am definetely going to pick up this guy once it's available again. Pose is too dynamic and the light up function is just too good to pass up on. But for now, I have the IM 1:1 bust and the stealth comiquette to hold me over. Then 'll have the EX comiquette which I should be receiving after my last payment.:clap

I don't know whether to get this or stick with the HT line. It is damn classy.

Hottoys make cheap plastic toys...im sorry I will never understand how some people can throw down hundreds of dollars on plastic kids toys. I dont care how detailed or accurate they make them......their toysss :slap

A statue is a statue....not to be confused with a plastic toy.

Chris

About everyone who sees my ____ including myself call em toys and when you look at the big picture it really doesn't matter. :lol

Sadly, the bid kept going so I won't be getting it. Maybe this retro isn't meant for me. Oh noes!!!

Aight! who put this up for auction?!! Confess!!!

Conversely couldn't folks ask how can anyone throw down hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars on hunks of polystone that are in the shape of superheroes, movie, or TV characters? Try convincing a non-collector that spending $500 on the Iron Man VI Maquette during the worst economic crisis since the great depression isn't essentially throwing your money away. Let's be realistic, $500 represents a car or rent payment for a number of people.

I understand perfectly how someone spends hundreds of dollars on plastic kids toys...it's because they enjoy them. Who are we to turn our noses down at HT collectors?

:rotfl I was watching that same auction but when I checked this morning, it was beyond what I was willing to pay for it at the moment.

I have a feeling the next Green Hulk PF that goes up on the bay, we'll be outbidding each other. :panic::panic::panic:

Well, the gold looks very close to that of the life-size that both cannot make even a bit light reflection from the gold itself. To be more satisfactory, reflection should be seen upon the paint and this can be done with the paint made up of very fine gold powder as each piece of powder is making and helping light reflection, but, this maquette seems lacking such paint.

Currently, it looks to me the gold is merely a large portion of pale yellow mixing small amount of gold. Still have a feeling of gold in certain extend, it can certainly be made more golden during manufacturing though. To compare, I think the gold on half-scale is better than this quarter scale in terms of shiny and light reflection.

I'm thinking that this is one case where a new release is going to drive down the value of a past grail..

I'm interested in seeing if the price rises or falls on the secondary market

I bet the price goes down.

usually if the item is a hit initially it goes up but later drops below retail.
now with items like Venom it has stayed up, but this one has such a large ES i think it'll drop off and especially with the hype of the movie long gone now.

WOW, Regular sold out 2000 !!!

Don't think this will be going down in price. UP up and away.

I'm speechless. I can't believe its sold out! Gawd, I hope I don't jump on the hype wagon. Really want that tv I'm eyeing.

you late comers maybe don't know how ssc works, but usually everything is sold out on their site.:dunno
