This turned out good. I hope Sideshow makes a mark 43, repaint and a new base, just like what they did with war machine mark 2.

a definate possibility and one which i'd approve as i actually prefer the MK43 colour scheme over the 42. Like with their War Machine variant, they'd only need to add a few of ultrons robots to the base and you got yourself a new statue ;)

I sold mine as well. Got bored of looking at it. :D

That was the picture i was talking about. The red looks better here.

Hey it's my Mark XLII!

This piece looks nice. If I didn't already have my XM I'd definitely be buying this. That was the original plan anyway. Definitely more movie accurate than the XM, but idk the XM paint just POPS...especially under some decent light. I need to take better pictures of mine...the ones I posted a while back arent good enough.

Anyway...cool piece. Good job SS, lets hope the QC holds up now.

Damn dude, look at that paint app. It's when you get a chance to own a collectible this exceptional that makes it impossible to wanna go back to collecting Sideshow. Especially SS's Iron Man and Iron Man related pieces. It really sucks that all these sweet looking IM collectibles are being made by companies overseas and the rest of N. America is stuck having to settle for Sideshow's low-budget, low-qual, ES flooded waste.

The pain is real. :goodpost:

How can that IM piece not appeal to you, Raikirik? It's the exact same character in the exact same armor, it's much, much heavier, and it's painted a thousand times better. The only difference is that he's standing straight up in a great museum quality pose. What's not to love about it? Would you buy it if Sideshow's name was on it? I bet you would.

If it was SS who released it, I still wouldn't get it. There are differences I nitpick and one of them is the appearance of the helmet/faceplate. It looks a bit narrow and the 'eyes' just don't sit right with me on the XM.

I can appreciate the paintwork and I guess the fact that it's solid but I guess the overall sculpt just doesn't resonate with me :(.

I used to regret getting some of my HT IMs because their helmets looked off and while they do improve for the most part with the later suits, sometimes they stumble. (Mark VII and Mark 42 large eyes). The Mark 43 really has my attention though, I mean look at it.

Not a fan of the suit nor the pose but the effort and detail in the paint application is glorious.
Something we can only dream about while waiting on a Sideshow piece.

For me, I like having the Stark head change and frankly weight means nothing to me. I'm also sure that piece is 3 or 4 times the price and I'm not gonna pay $1000 to $1200 for each statue. I also like the light up feature a lot.

The XM one is great but the price, lack of base, and pose isn't great. There's some who received theirs not 100% paint clean also...
So most would rather get a statue half the price of an XM.

lol! So true, dude. Another part of the pain is sitting behind my laptop and seeing collectors settle for this stuff by saying, "This'll be displayed from about six feet from me anyway, so the bad paint app doesn't matter." It's like they're acknowledging that the paint apps are garbage, but don't even care. Are you kidding me? I love looking at my pieces up close. It's one of the best ways to enjoy them.

The paint apps are so good on all of my pieces (yes, even my older SS pieces) that I can't help but get right up on the statue just so I can touch it and drool over the paint apps. Especially pieces with teeth showing. I love poking my finger tips on stuff like this because the paint makes it look so damn good and real...

Did SS change paint companies a few years ago or something? I stopped collecting at one point so didn't order anything from the for a few years. Why has their been a decline in the paint apps? I don't think they're garbage, but they aren't what they once were either.

Can only assume they're using cheaper factories and implementing zero Q.C.

It's all about the $ now.

IP was garbage but they still knock out some quality pieces.
Every IM piece seems to suffer :(

That pic of the XM XLII has some lens distortion going on. In person it looks fine.
I looked at a few more pictures and the head does look wider but I can't get over the eyes. I find I like their Mark VII much better.

Now THAT I would get. That's crazy good.
