Are u getting any XM pieces? I'm with you on ordering more SSC stuff cuz of price but only on the pieces that they suceed on. IP PF was horrible IMO. This is much better but I'm happy with my mark vi. But for a few characters I'm willing to drop the extra money for XM or other overseas companies that deliver a higher quality product.

No, no XM pieces. And I agree I buy what I feel is a good statue. I think IP looked good on the prototype, but the production piece looked poor.....specifically the Rhodes portrait so that was an easy pass. I like how this IM turned out so I'm right on the fence about buying it, but if I do I know I'm gonna nave to track down the movie Hulk maquette and Cap Evans PF's as well since I have Thor and Widow ( repaint ) already LOL.

As Stephen A Smith would say, "Stay off the WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!" :lol

LMAO.....you a first take fan too eh??? Hilarious!!! Much, much better paint apps than IP. If the IP was excellent I would have kept him and kept my order for this IM MK 42 (even though I already own the XM Studios one).

Jaws...we are going to agree to disagree on this....but the XM portrait BLOWS this SS RDJ out of the water. That's not to say the SS RDJ is bad, because it isn't, but no it doesn't compare...and it damn sure doesn't have that intrinsic resin look which makes the face look real.

Happy to see SS get an IM paint job of decency. I really like that IP but the paints blew. Only if....I would have been the proud owner of both IP and this really good looking IM MK 42. I definitely like the pose of SS IM MK 42 over XM MK 42....but that's about it.

I swear I'm not trying to be a ****, but are you serious about XMs RDJ portrait? That thing looks more like Dom Deluise than RDJ. I don't see RDL at all there. It looks more like it's supposed to be a rendering of the comic version.

The XM one is great but the price, lack of base, and pose isn't great. There's some who received theirs not 100% paint clean also...
So most would rather get a statue half the price of an XM.

Really? I only paid $700 for mine. Where did the other $300-$500 go?? Won't fight with anyone over their dislike of the base or wanting a more dynamic pose (even though the pose is fine there). I too prefer dynamic poses over museum ones....one of the reasons why I really think the new Spiderman PF is amazing (pun intended).

fight! fight! fight! :lol :lol

Thanks for making my day with that gif! OMG....so damn funny! That cat was like....biiii no you didn't??! I wouldn't be surprised if that boy never smacks a cat again.

100%. Not even close. I am looking at the face now. In fact, you are the first person I have heard use the likeness of Dom Deluise. :rotfl

I have been stated on both this forum and SF that not only do I think the portrait is far and away the best on any 1/4 STATUE I have seen personally, but it rivals and in many cases beats Hot Toys (some of their RDJ head sculpts). We are talking about a digitally rendered 3D printout of RDJ for the XM...not a hand sculpted one (not saying some can't do great head sculpts using traditional sculpting).

Yep! Love that show, those 2 are entertaining. :lol

XM portrait is amazing. No contest really. And agreed, I cancelled my Iron Patriot and Mk 42 orders also. I didn't want one without the other, they wouldn't work as stand alone's for my display. Also, Sideshow was absolutely dead last releasing their Mark 42, every other company including Iron Studios, XM, Imaginarium, etc released their 1:4 Mk 42's long ago so I've already picked up two 1:4 Mk 42's for my collection with no regrets cancelling SSC's having seen how bad Iron Patriot turned out. Again, this looks to have turned out okay and that's great for Sideshow's Iron Man fans. :duff

@ JAWS: you never responded to my post where I listed SSC IM releases, did you miss it? :tap :lol

Here you go mate :)

I was being sarcastic with the Dom Deluise comment :)

But in all seriousness, the XM portrait looks zero and I mean zero like RDJ. It reminds me of Attikus attempts at human likeness.....not even remotely close. To each his own though. If you own it and like it that's good and no offense meant.
