I'm desperate for some IM goodness after selling my MKVI.
Don't like this suit or movie so praying for a decent MKII

You sold the Mk 6 :thwak

Also praying Sideshow steps it up on the Mk 2, but I'm expecting a dull paint app. It's been 6 or so years since they released the Mk 2 bust with dull paint, no reason we get the same thing on the Maquette in 2015 when kids in their garage are banging out Iron Man statues with high quality, automotive-type metallic paint apps.

This one hit the RDJ for me--

I made one in a cave with a box of scraps :lecture

I'm really not expecting the brushed metal effect, even though it has been seen on the Mark 42 bust proto and the Mark II itself on the proto, but I'm at least expecting it to NOT look like the Mark II bust.

Jaws...we are going to agree to disagree on this....but the XM portrait BLOWS this SS RDJ out of the water. That's not to say the SS RDJ is bad, because it isn't, but no it doesn't compare...and it damn sure doesn't have that intrinsic resin look which makes the face look real.

First I have heard someone so happy with it...

Personally I think it looks nothing like him from the videos and In hand pics I have seen.

This guy had his Destroyer Chromed, still gutted I stalled and missed out on it at a decent price.
Might be tempted to do similar with the MKII...

How much does a chrome job after the fact cost? Gotta be brutal on top of the $500 the Maquette will run you plus shipping to & fro + the job itself.

Any pics of the XM portrait? Can't be bothered trawling :D

Video shows good shots... Radd Titan was not impressed...

Personally I would not care if either sculpt was 100% RDJ I would never display that way.

More pics... Robertobagg10 is happy with his.. Still don't think it looks like RDJ at all. But SSC looks no better. Neither are bad. Just not RDJ. IMO :)

I am starting to think that XM paint aps just do not photograph the best because I think they all give a very plastic feel and look. But owners LOVE them and with so much love I tend to believe them. :)

Worst pic but somehow I see more RDJ in this one then the others :)

That looks good. When I saw the Mark II display pics before I thought they looked flat and similar to the bust. I think that was the general reaction as well IIRC.

Upon googling it again though I think I can see the effect on the display piece.

Those black rivet holes....forgot how much I hated those too.

Don't remind me! The guy had it up for £350 and took best offer :(

Not sure how much the service would cost. He told me where he had it done.
Will need to investigate if necessary.

Am I missing something?

Are they painted on holes instead of actual holes?

So off topic now :lol

When you find out post it up! I've seen people doing that to their Silver Surfer statues but never saw any prices posted.
