Weight done not always equal quality. It does equal higher shipping costs though.

Yeah i thought the same thing. I can't remember what post I read it on but there was a post saying this was made differently than the Mark 3. The point was being made that these were not the same ones being repainted by SC and then sold as Mark 2. My thinking is the bases are probably not the same material. I own the Mark 3 and I remember the FedEx guy struggling to get it upstairs to my apartment. This one was just picked up and brought without much effort. The UPS delivery label reads 27 pounds. That would make the Mark 3 closer to 40?

bodie is right....the IMs QC has been ????....I am on my 2nd mark III...so far so good...but how long will it last...for this kind of money the ????ing thing should be near perfect....my first one looked like it was painted by a ????ing blind man...and god forbid you fart near it...the paint falls off...FAIL!

Apparently you didn't read his post then. Sculpt, paint and price equal quality was the point I was trying to make. Bodie only cares about weight or solidity.

Ok long story short everyone.....we just want SS to make their stuff like they use too. Heavy, solid, great detail, limited....WITH a fair price.

NOW...

does anyone have any pictures of their recently aquired mark II bust!?!?

Here are a couple of quick ones I ripped off for you before work. More to come detailing problem areas from previous releases.

I don't see any problems in those picks. What number did you get?

Are you sure the neck area is painted well? In the 2nd picture on the left side of the neck it looks like its missing paint. It has that same foggy effect that the mark III did. I would be hard to tell if its painted or not with a silver paint scheme. Is it rough in there when you run your fingers along the paint?

Very nice, thanks for the pictures...looks pretty good so far. What would you say it weighs?

Chris

Chris just a few more photo's for you. I would say the weight is about 35lbs(16kg). Amins original photos are a really good representation of this bust The paint work is just beautiful as I said earlier the head in particular is like liquid silver. The texture on the figure has been achieved by using a base coat of black that could explain the area I noted that resembles overspray.

Everthing about this figure seems just right, texture, finish, feel and presence. The real charm about it is it's what I would call "softness" something that has been produced by a machine as Tony programmed, its only my opinion but the finish really brings an element of realism.

The suit would need to have been a material that could be manipulated by machines like an alloy with no man handling envolved, this is the purist form that could have been developed from Tony's designs. If we were to request a model that was a high gloss chrome one would assume that the base material to be a metal such as steel which under normal production constraints would require firing and pressing.

No, I would say that failing any unforseen issues such as flaking the collectors with this scuplt in their collection will be very happy. I know I certainly am.....

Good pick up, there is a small area between the neck sleeve and the shoulder guard that appears to have a slight roughness to it's finish. I just thought it was a reflexion. Top coat appears to be missing giving it that powdery look. Articulation of the applicator must be restricted in that area, if I was to rectify the finish you would need to dust it with a very fine wet n' dry 600 plus then try to get an air brush in there.

But as the texture of the finish creates many facets to the surface it would be easier to position the bust according to your final lighting layout of your display. General observation makes the area undistinquishable due to shadowing and reflexions.

Thanks for the photos. I have yet to see a picture that makes me regret my order.

:(...thats what I was afraid of. These are being painted the same way as the mark III's were. Its less noticeable on a silver bust because it blends in. But its still a big hang up for me on a $800 bust. The mark III I got was missing paint in the neck area so bad it was actully white! I cant tell you how bad it looked...heres an older picture I took when I had it.
Thanks for your pictures though, the bust itself seem to be painted pretty well. Its just those little areas that bug me. Plus theirs also the possibility this bust may have paint pealing issues in the future.
