the gentle giant version kills this. get it while you can. it has a smaller edition size and costs less...for now.

Agree, the GG is far superior, I didn't think Sideshows production pieces could get any worse but this is a new low, after the Siren comes out I'm done with Sideshow.

SIDESHOW -

While I can surely understand how many of you feel about what has been shown so far, please keep our CoC in mind as you leave your feedback and thoughts in this and other threads. :)

Just a friendly reminder!

On topic: Wow, I am surely disappointed here. I cancelled this statue a while back, but some small part of me always wanted that the in-hand pictures would lure me back. Not so far, I must say.

Can you give us a TL;DR version of the CoC? Are we not allowed to bash Sideshow QC in threads now?

You have to be constructive if you are going to bash:lol I don't think anyone has really crossed the line yet. So far, albeit a very limited pool of pics(2 people I think), the paint job is VERY poor. There is NO comparison to the mark VI or WM maquettes. The IM line is a complete disaster for SSC. I honestly want them to just stop making IM products because it is clear they have no intention of improving their mechanics on making anything related to IM. If they honestly look at that paintjob and feel it is satisfactory then I'm afraid the end is not too far off. As popular as they are, I don't think most people will accept that level of paint on a $400 statue.

That looks really great. I'd get that version over this.

Absolutely unacceptable.

Well, I already removed a couple of posts. :)

Anyways, back on track.

Haha, I'm fine with my comment getting removed:lol I wasn't really bashing so much as stating an observation of my own. Every IM piece SSC has released in the past few years has been plagued with issues....not opinion, fact. I also know the mark VI and WM maquettes are fantastic. This piece is no where near the level of quality of those...at least from the pics so far. SSC is capable of creating excellent statues...but the IM line just isn't part of that.

Now these are just one set of photos... But if this ends up being the norm for this piece then I just don't get what SS is thinking.. Charging higher prices, for higher ES, with less quality... That Helm is about as bad as anything I have seen done by a pro company.. Look at the glop of Red paint by the eye.. Look at the other red paint on the Helm... I am not kidding when I say that I feel I could do just as well. It's disheartening. Makes me feel like getting out of the hobby as I don't want to pay XM prices but I don't want this sort of quality from SSC..

This could be a fluke... But if not then SSC needs to really reevaluate what they are passing off as high end collectibles.. Just because something is big and made out of polystone does not make it high end.

I hear ya man. This just can't be tolerated. Everyone who gets this...if your paint looks like that, DONT ACCEPT. At the very least, ask for a replacement or a partial refund. Now, there could be better ones so not everyone will return of course but if that really is what most of them come out looking like, something needs to be done. That level of paint quality just isn't acceptable.

Mines due on Friday, not holding out much hope now though after seeing those pictures.

I can see Friday night being hammer time as I'm not paying 300+ quid for tat like that.

Worst paints I have seen on a SSC product.. Just awful!
Understatement of the year. Sideshow needs to get this statue back and have a company-wide meeting on how unacceptable it is to send a statue like that, to a customer. They also need to go to China, with the same statue, and start making examples out of people. QC this bad should not be tolerated at any level. SS is developing a bad reputation and needs to do everything they can to reverse the situation. They need to do something major, at this point, as it looks like they're doing nothing to improve their QC.

Hope it's alright that I'm putting light up pics in another post. I will keep adding as I go along.

These photos look great!

I have to disagree. Even the newer pics look bad to me. In fact, I think I see blotches in the mold as well...or uneven areas. The red paint is prob the worst areas...esp on the head. I'm sorry, if you guys are happy with it, congrats, but to me, there is no way this is what you paid $400 for. I would try to get a partial refund at the very least.
