Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

Something just occurred to me when browsing through some old threads...could this link be connected with the new IM3 announcement? :dunno

https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135321

in which case we could these 1/4 PF's displayed with matching bases (aka the Mythos Star Wars line)

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

It does look like the same pose you could be onto something

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

Its like I was saying a few posts ago, to have this PF line made in a way where they are all linked somehow, whether it be the same base (mythos style) or a specific style (like the previous 1/4 maquettes both had those nameplates and similar styled bases)

I think that would be a nice touch! :exactly:

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

I really like pfs that have similar bases makes them into a huge dio

Wolverine and sabretooth still my fav

:exactly: also makes the line more attractive as collectors will want to buy more than just 1 or 2 pieces :wink1:

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

It's all good banter my friend but there is a genuine dislike for this movie and the gold armour..

The only people who genuinely disliked IM3 are hardcore comic nerds eho got their panties in a bunch over the mandarin. Professional critics and the general population really enjoyed it. On my second viewing I came to enjoy it too, after I got over the shock and awe of that twist.

Have you rewarched it at home? After getting over that twist, it is still rather enjoyable.

The first iron man film is still my favorite marvel film though

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

I liked it and read the comics although read the ultimate line as well which is constantly changing things. It is much better on second viewing

:exactly: couldn't agree more Snads. It was my fav of the whole Marvel movies followed by Avengers then Thor 1.

I ended up watching IM3 4 times....(I have a cinema pass:yess:) yea, its okay as movies go. Still finding it hard to accept large amounts of comedy in Marvel movies

for example the Mandarin storyline or watching Thor getting on a train in the London Underground in Thor 2

but the action scenes were good in IM3, would have like to have seen more of the armours mind you :exactly:

I hope it's not that pose. Hate that pose. Iron Man shouldn't do Shoryuken pose like so.

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

I am a little torn about the pose of the IM one. But will have to wait for more pictures. Might turn out to be really good once you see it better.

:exactly: best to wait until the reveal pics...its not even confirmed that that link is even connected yet? I reckon it is though...:wink1:

The teaser/announcement picture does seem very similar in terms of IM's pose to the one on the computer.

Yea, that's what makes me think they are linked...which leads me to believe that these PF's will have those Mythos styled bases :)

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

Sounds good to me. I want to be able to display this bad boy in a besta next to something else without cramming them too much together. :)

:hi5: thought you might like that Chris :) you recently got the Boba Fett right? Lovely piece!

Yea, the bases really tie the whole line in perfectly when on display :exactly:

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

Exactly. I've had Boba Fett PF for quite a while. But it is one of the few pieces that I currently display with a companion piece (Aurra Sing PF).

I might choose to display this one with the Black Widow statue (Winter Soldier) from Gentle Giant.

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

There are currently a few licenses which companies such as Sideshow and Hot Toys really love to milk...looks like Iron Man is one of those also (not that I'm complaining) :lol

interesting to see a whole bunch of different companies releasing 1/4 scale pieces from the IM3 license and I wonder how they will all be affected by amount of sales made...it seems that Iron Studios have done well getting their MK42 out first and the statue as a whole appears to have gone down well with those who have it inhand...but then you have the XM Studios also releasing a MK42, albeit at an extortionate price! Then you have Sideshow announcing a MK42 along with Iron Patriot and War Machine....and finally you still have Gentle Giants 1/4 IM3 licence too with the reveal of their Iron Patriot and Igor statues at this years Con...

Shame these companies couldn't have split their selected statues between the past 3 movies rather than base them all on the one :dunno

Re: Sideshow Iron man 3 PF collection: Iron man Mark 42/ Iron Patriot / War Machine

Gentle Giant is also known to be a little more expensive from what I've read, and also takes an eternity to churn out product. It will be interesting to see how their Igor sells, he did look amazing at SDCC.
