This is literally gonna be my favorite statue.

Well, it looks like our tiny little group will have to share statue porn for each other. We can sit in a circle and sing kumbaya while we admire our IS Spideys.

Ha, ya it doesn't seem like too many people will be getting this one. Could change once they start being released.

I'm extremely excited for this statue. I bought the new ssc spidey but sold it shortly afterwards due to me just not being fully in love (if you can use that word for a statue) with it. I'm not expecting the same to happen with this one though. The detail on it looks incredible.

I'm already thinking about ways to customize the display. We have Doc Ock and Goblin bombs. I think a sand fist or hand would be cool as well. Not to mention the XM Venom busting out of a clock tower might look epic next to it.

With all the XM villains coming, along with the ones I already have, not to mention my artwork and such, I created an entire Spidey display space in one large closet off my main statue room. This is a crappy iPhone panorama shot of the closet to give you an idea. For now, I have some of my duplicate character statues in there until I start getting in all the Spidey stuff, but I think it'll be an awesome display when finished.

Totally awesome. I basically have a mancave that is dedicated to Thor but his pal Pete is also getting his own area, albeit much smaller lol.

Not to derail the thread though! This is about our buddy Pete! I bought a slew of Spidey Thor teamup books as well as their first appearance together in a book...



So the Spidey nook is still going to be Thor related to keep up with the style.

Love it! Some serious man-crushing going on right now. I love that I am not seeing all CGCs there. It looks really great. And no, a collection is like the saying about art: it's never finished, just abandoned.

Thanks! I truly appreciate it. Really ready to get this Spidey and have him represent his own space. I was looking at it again today and the fabric on the suit is blowing my mind.

Im a tad surprised myself. Its kind of an interesting dynamic. You become a part of this community and get used to the constant complaints. The lack of innovative sculpts. The lack of unique bases. The tired old one leg up pose. The lack of quality control.

Now mind you when Iron Studios started they were kind of flawed. Right idea. Bad paint production. Then XM was coming out and alot of folks saw them as the heir apparant. Meanwhile IS was slowly improving and then they put out the awesome Cap 1/ statue. But this was at the same time that Sideshow was releasing statue announcements left and right for their anniversary. Meanwhile XM put out XM Magneto. That statue instantly became a grail and rightly so.

Next thing we know we get a tease by IS about a 1/4 Spidey. It was kind of out there as it would have been around a similar price in the US and other places as XM. But then they blew the lid of the doors with this version. It began to pick up steam and note. Then the actual SSC Spidey pushed out an EX batch. It was quite possibly the best pose and base they had done in years. People were able to snatch it up quick. All of a sudden there was a Spidey out there that looked good and also looked good with other SSC modern statues. So this fella got kind of snubbed. Its easy to start finding things wrong with something when youve already boughten something hot and new and instant gratification of a haul.

I was actually a little different. Once I saw this I instantly fell in love. I couldnt afford it and went with the EX Spidey option. Its a great option but it was financial compromise. Then when SSC offered the IS Spidey I canceled my EX for SSC Spidey.

I think this has the same opportunity to be the XM Magneto for IS. Im not talking value. This might replace Koto Spidey as the best Spidey statue of all time.

I'm really looking forward to this piece and I've recently preordered it from a local retailer, but I was just wondering how much of the base is made out of poly stone etc.

When looking at a video uploaded to YouTube by Iron Studios I could've sworn I saw the tentacle move independently from the base when it was knocked by the presenter.

Well said CF. yeah I'm expecting this to be the best 1:4 statue of all time! Plus being of my favorite hero. I just couldn't ask for any more. It looks INCREDIBLE. When I display this it's getting its own Electrionic spinner and light set up.
