So, after watching all the IM movies and Avengers, the Mark 6 is still my favorite. Seemed to be the most durable armor and had the most action scenes. It handled an army of Hammer drones, took on Iron Whiplash, had underwater capabilities, probably would have gave Loki a good fight, heck, Tony went toe to toe with Thor in it.

It even survived getting suck into a giant turbine without getting Stark shredded into pieces. The armors in the new movie, granted most of the time they were an empty shell, just kept falling apart too easily.

Because Extremis soldiers are strong enough to fight Thor, I doubt they can beat him but they are a challenge, Mark VI would last just a few seconds against that type of enemy imho

Even if it had just a few seconds of screen time, Heartbreaker is still my favourite :love, then Mark XLII and Mark VII

I got say Mark II is my favorite. That scene when Tony first assembles it and take it for a test flight is my favorite scene of all IM movies.

Followed by Mark VII - That suit just had so much fire power, it's insane.

then Mark VI- Most reliable armor, helped Tony through many tough times.

The main problem with this film is that, Killian is completely foreign to the audience, hes a stranger. First he's just some guy trying to sell the Extremis software to pepper, then hes working with Mandarin, then suddenly hes the main villain. We really don't know what he wants. He needed Tony to fix Extremis, but what is his ultimate goal after that? Was he just gonna make an army of soldiers and take over the world? Does he say that? :dunno I just wasn't concerned with the outcome of the fight cause I didn't know what the stakes were. And I really didn't care, it just didn't hold my attention.

I would have preferred they use the magic rings as a plot. They could have said the rings were made out of some alien artifact and thats why they have power. Maybe Killian had one of the rings and the Mandarin was searching for the last ring. And they both end up fighting each other. And Tonys caught in middle. It just sucks cause if you look at the other movies, Obadiah Stane and the terrorist guy in the cave and guy who gives whiplash his passport, they all had those rings. It was a continuing theme through the series, all culminating with the Mandarin finally getting them. I wish they had followed thru with it.:gah:

Also I think Savin was the predominant villain of the film, more so than Mandarin or Killian.Even tho hes just a henchman. He's the one we see most of the time, And i think they should have kept him alive for the final showdown. He should've stayed in the armor and taken the President with him. Then when Rhodey says 'Give me a suit' War Machine 2.0 should've shown up ( Maybe have an extra case fly in with a 2nd shoulder canon and some arm guns) And then we could have had Patriot vs War Machine for an epic final battle :yess:. That would have been something worth watching.

Good points and very valid logic. I am not a comic book loyalist, but really would have loved the mandarin to be a real version. Too batman begins for me. Been there, saw that in a comic book movie.

Re-posting what I said in the Mandarin figure thread:

It's official, Aldrich Killian IS the Mandarin. Shane Black even mentions that the terrorist image acted as his proxy, sort of like an idealized persona created for the sake of anonymity. So if anything, aside from being a hilarious character, [the Ben Kingsley Mandarin] still retains some cred given how it's still pretty closely tied to Killian's character.

With that finally confirmed, I'm all the more keen for a 1/6 figure of final battle Killian, complete with dragon tattoos.:lecture

Yeah, that was pretty clear in the movie, it's just that people didn't like it because "The Mandarin" isn't supposed to be a white guy with dragon tattoos on his chest. He's supposed to be an Asian guy with ten very powerful rings. The fact that the decoy looked the part (minus being Asian of course) is why people are probably pissed.

I feel sorry for people who are SO tied to the comics that they get so upset when the movies deviate from them. Because the movie studios make movies to appeal to the masses, not to the comic book fans. Movies are made to make money, not to make people happy. ;)

Personally, I'm a huge super hero fan, but not a huge comic book traditionalist. Heck, I loved Wolverine Origins, and Deadpool is my favorite character in the Marvel universe.

Um...no..Thor could withstand the Destroyers blast, and in the comics fought Surtur. Three of them, maybe. Cott damn it, the more I think about it, the angrier Iron Man 3 makes me feel...

I'm still baffled why a very wealthy genius looking to take a large controlling power of what I took to be a global foothold, decided it was a good idea to take a drugged out man whore as his figure head....it is a ridiculous notion. Apart from the fact that he did say he did some acting, and im sure someone in the world could have said..oh I know that guy..he is Trevor and is definitely not some extreme radical. Just didnt add up
