If you watch the featurettes on the first Iron Man film, he's pretty clear he doesn't want to do Iron Man movies forever. I think it's "next seven to eight years" that he keeps saying. It's already been five years.

Iron Man was when he hit huge giant fame again but before that he had already done a bunch of smaller films to critical acclaim. I think at the point he did Iron Man he was already back on his feet. Hell he had already done Zodiac at that point and that was a pretty big movie.

That's my understanding as well. He will be back for the teamup films but this was the last Iron Man standalone.

I certainly haven't gotten that impression from anything he's said himself. I've seen a lot of fan assumption/speculation, but he's been very coy. Remember... he's renegotiating a contract right now. I think it could go either way.

That was a long time ago, though, too. A lot's changed since then. I don't think we can guess too much. Don't get me wrong, I'd be a little surprised to see him in Iron Man 4, but it might depend on how much time he gets between now and Avengers 2 and then between Avengers 2 and Iron Man 4 to do other projects.

All I was saying is… if he does in fact want to bow out… he sort of has been saying that from the beginning. I just thought it was interesting.

I haven't been following this so I don't even know if there's ANY substantiation to these rumors. In the last few pages I haven't seen any links to official announcements or anything.

Oh yeah, and to be honest it's something I'd expect more given his artistic ambitions. But... if they make the deal sweet enough, I can see him signing on for Avengers 2, Iron Man 4 and then Avengers 3 and then be done with it. Of those three films, only an IM4 would require a ton of his time. He can basically be a voice-over artist for A2 or A3 depending on how much they show Tony out of the suit. And if he can keep the money rolling in and also do side projects he's passionate about... could be a good deal for him.

Nightclub would be amazing if they actually could make all the lighting work.

There is such a thing as too many sequels..

Not when each one makes $1Billion.....and that's just in ticket sales. I'd LOVE to see what Avengers or Iron Man makes when you include merchandise. Holy moly.

Seriously, if you're making THAT much money per movie, why ever stop?

After getting Mark VII, possibly making a custom TS with Avengers outfit and RDJ HS from Mark VII, a Tony Stark from IM3, a Mark XLII and a possible Iron Patriot, I'm DEFINITELY out of the IM line. I think I will have an OD of IM :lol

"The report then adds that the studio has scripts in place for Blade, Ms. Marvel, Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Black Panther, and The Runaways. So that should give us a look at what we have coming to us in Phase 3 and 4 of Marvel's plan."

Runaways? Iron Fist? BLADE? These are unexpected. And if they really do a Blade one, please make a new Punisher/Daredevil or a Luke Cage. These are interesting heroes and they'd kick *** forming a vigilante street team or something like it.

Well maybe, MAYBE its because people get tyred sooner or later. That's why there aren't 11 movies of the same hero over and over again :lol

And that's why Robert can't be replaced or killed during Avengers 2 :yess: if they make IM4 it likelly his last stand alone movie
