Well maybe, MAYBE its because people get tyred sooner or later. That's why there aren't 11 movies of the same hero over and over again :lol

::coughbatmancough::

There's also been like… 30 seasons of various Batman shows over the last couple decades.

Iron Man was when he hit huge giant fame again but before that he had already done a bunch of smaller films to critical acclaim. I think at the point he did Iron Man he was already back on his feet. Hell he had already done Zodiac at that point and that was a pretty big movie.

I think Paltrow mentioned they (a number of people in the production team) still weren't sure about casting an ex junkie for Iron Man.
He wasn't as big back then as he is now.

i think tony will die in avengers 2

I can see Marvel killing him off now that he has done this:

(Andrew) Marvel Studios and THE AVENGERS 2 cast are having payment disputes, with some actors threatening to quit. Disney/Marvel is running into trouble with the sequel, with the upfront pay, backend compensation, break even points and box office bonuses not yet pinned down yet for several big stars and castmates. Marvel already has threatened to sue or recast when contracts and/or options are challenged, prompting a few cast members to respond, “Go ahead.” Read the article from Deadline for more!

:lol

Marvel seems like a ***** to negotiate with. Holy ****, they have everything in their power to earn a LOT of money, but they still want more and more, to the point that when these guys leave their productions, their money will go down considerably.

Well yeah clearly, but I was just trying to point out it wasn't his big come back film. He had been getting plenty of work for quite some time before that and in big films too. It's like sure, Batman was a game changer for Bale in terms of fame but he was still getting plenty of work before that.

That's all I was trying to say. Now is RDJ a big reason for why Iron Man and by extension all of the Marvel films have been successful? Well yeah. Yeah he is.

Oh alright. Yeah, I agree on all points now. :hi5:
Now we see him juicing out his contract. :lol

It sounds more like he's trying to get the rest of the cast paid more if you read that article.

Have you read the article? It's quite long but very interesting. This line in particular is what makes me think that.

To counter, I’ve learned the Avengers cast are becoming united behind Robert Downey Jr who is seen as the “leader” – like “a big brother” in the words of one rep - for all the younger actors in the ensemble. “He’s the only guy with real power in this situation. and ***** of steel, too. He’s already sent a message that he’s not going to work for a place where they treat his colleagues like ****,”

Some of the main cast only got paid a couple hundred thousand which is like… indie movie money. I do think that actors get paid way too much but… it's also not like that money is going to effects guys and camera operators either.

Lol you didn't get what I'm saying.. Jesus I'm not talking about that, I'm just saying that marvel can't make a phase 12, do you think all the batman movies have the same story arc and actors? :lol

I read that article on Yahoo, it said some of the cast were only paid like 500k for The Avengers and RDJ made between 50-80 million...crazy

They've been paid only 200k, wtf marvel

Not when each one makes $1Billion.....and that's just in ticket sales. I'd LOVE to see what Avengers or Iron Man makes when you include merchandise. Holy moly.

Seriously, if you're making THAT much money per movie, why ever stop?

And that folks, sums up the mentality of every major studio in the past 10 years.

The bubble on these films will burst eventually. Eventually they'll make one about a superhero no one has any attachment to, make one that will suck, or eventually people will just get tired of them. Its great that Marvel has all these plans, but I doubt that the whole thing will come to fruition.

:exactly:

That will happen eventually , specially now that they wanna bring the Guardians of the Galaxy and all that crap

People have been saying the bubble will burst on superhero films for at least 13 years. I guess it'll happen... some day...

Well so far they have been only doing superheroes that people already knew about. Iron Man, Batman, Superman, Thor. These were all heroes that most people were familliar with and/or had some nostalgic attachment to. The movie already came with a built in audience.

Now they are branching out into heroes that only comic book readers would be familliar with. Guardians of the Galaxy, The Runaways, Black Panther, ect. Most people aren't going to initially care, so its going to be up to the movie to stand on its own.

Super hero films are not going to be the focus of films forever. Its only a matter of time before people have had enough for awhile and the genre joins the ranks of disaster movies and interracial buddy-cop films.

Going through the Art of Iron Man 3 book... there are some damn good storyboards I wish they did in the final battle.

The first film's starboards, at least those that I have seen, are much much better. Both better draftsmanship and do better at showing the action and character emotion.

I just rushed through the article as I'm in the office.
Being the new intern, all eyes are on me. :lol

200k is really 'wtf' for marvel. :cuckoo:
