Yeah, I worked briefly as an assistant for a an artists who worked for Marvel. It was only a fe months but it was enough to make me never want to get into being a comic's artist. They treat everyone who's not a big name like utter crap. They pay nothing, don't give benefits, etc.

The guy I worked for I met because I was working at Target at the time. His wife was working at Target just so they could get health benefits. Things may have changed since then, but from what I have read if they have changed it has been for the worse.

And that folks, sums up the mentality of every major studio in the past 10 years.

The bubble on these films will burst eventually. Eventually they'll make one about a superhero no one has any attachment to, make one that will suck, or eventually people will just get tired of them. Its great that Marvel has all these plans, but I doubt that the whole thing will come to fruition.

:exactly: My Dad and I were just talking about this the other day.

Going through the Art of Iron Man 3 book... there are some damn good storyboards I wish they did in the final battle.

Loved these ones. :lol Too bad they're not in the movie.
These would easily boost Heartbreaker and Bones sales.

Some of those boards are GREAT. Would have loved to see some of those, though they would have added even more humor.

I don't think anyone will argue that RDJ is the cornerstone of that MMU but my point is that I don't think Kevin Feige or Marvel Studios for that matter cares. Iron Man in box office revenue and merchandising alone is a license to print cash and they'll recast RDJ no problem and give it a shot before tapping out of that.

A lot of casual fans go for RDJ. Sure they'd still have the kids who go for Iron Man, but I think the universal appeal that enables these movies to make mega $$$ would be diminished. A lot. I guess we'll all see at some point.

I think both Evans and Hemsworth are signed through Avengers 2. Black Widow and Hawkeye aren't necessary for the sequels, especially if they replace those characters with new heroes, i.e. Falcon, Vision, Ms. Marvel, etc.

I have no doubt they'll get the major cast together for Avengers 2 and most likely 3, but I would be surprised if we get anymore solo films for the time being.

I'm thinking someone's going to die in Avengers 2. Maybe Cap, maybe Stark. Is Renner still wanting out of his Hawk Eye shoes? Maybe they'll kill him off soon.

I would really be surprised if they kill off one of the main 4, they'll just recast. Feige has said many times he sees these characters like Bond, they'll just continue to make movies and recast when needed.

I liked Hawkeye and Black Widow. But they actually could probably work in their own team-up movie if they use other heroes for Avengers. I really hope they eventually build up to Ultron. They can't not have Ultron! If only that damn Ant-Man movie wasn't taking 10 years to get together.

I kind of agree that Marvel is producing themselves into a hole with some of these movies. Guardians of the Galaxy? Wasn't the failure of Green Lantern enough of a warning about trying to mess around with that kind of Sci-Fi-oriented super hero flick?

If Marvel seriously believes they can make more successful standalone IM films w/o RDJ as Stark, they are really fooling themselves IMO. At least there doesn't seem to be anything on deck along those lines yet.

There were serious doubts about Iron Man working before it came out too. As a life-long Iron Man fan, I had to put up with all this commentary about how he was a C-list hero. People forget that sometimes. :)

I'm just glad Marvel has more vision than some fans and is willing to give Guardians a shot. I was surprised by it. And it is a risk. But it's a calculated one. I don't think confidence should be confused with foolishness. I think that confidence should be celebrated. Their in a place where they can take these risks, and as fans we should be glad they are. It's not going to sink them if it goes awry, after all.

And GL didn't prove sci-fi superhero flicks won't work. It just proved that weak-scripted, miscast films with sub-standard CGI and a horrible marketing campaign won't work. And I say that as a GL fan who wanted so badly for it to be good.

I don't get it.. :monkey3

these would be cool if it were to be shown in the movies

I think that, like in the comics, killing someone off would not be a permanent thing. I'm actually leaning towards someone they've got locked down for a few movies being killed off; so not likely Stark. You can't kill off a character only to have them be revived and now played by a fresh faced, recasted actor. So Cap at some point is my guess.

So, after watching all the IM movies and Avengers, the Mark 6 is still my favorite. Seemed to be the most durable armor and had the most action scenes. It handled an army of Hammer drones, took on Iron Whiplash, had underwater capabilities, probably would have gave Loki a good fight, heck, Tony went toe to toe with Thor in it.

It even survived getting suck into a giant turbine without getting Stark shredded into pieces. The armors in the new movie, granted most of the time they were an empty shell, just kept falling apart too easily.
Quite simply, the most reliable and durable suit. Tony even mentions that the suit has seen some mileage whilst his conversation with Loki.

I got say Mark II is my favorite. That scene when Tony first assembles it and take it for a test flight is my favorite scene of all IM movies.

MarkII

Followed by Mark VII - That suit just had so much fire power, it's insane.

then Mark VI- Most reliable armor, helped Tony through many tough times.
Mark II tops my list of favorite movie armors too.

Also I think Savin was the predominant villain of the film, more so than Mandarin or Killian.Even tho hes just a henchman. He's the one we see most of the time, And i think they should have kept him alive for the final showdown. He should've stayed in the armor and taken the President with him. Then when Rhodey says 'Give me a suit' War Machine 2.0 should've shown up ( Maybe have an extra case fly in with a 2nd shoulder canon and some arm guns) And then we could have had Patriot vs War Machine for an epic final battle :yess:. That would have been something worth watching.
That'd be awesome since I honestly loved Savin more than Killian.

LOL this was my 6 year old's argument when he saw IM2: "Why doesn't Tony just fly up in the air and fire his repulsors at Whiplash, instead of standing within range of his whips?"

How could I argue that?

And while we're at it, if Thor can take out two Leviathans and a crapload of Chutauri with one bolt of lightning from atop the Chrysler building, what did he even need The Avengers for? :lecture
IDK but it seemed he struggled to conjure that amount of lightning and so maybe couldn't sustain it for long.

So which suits did Tony get in/try to get in in that final fight with Aldrich? I was trying to pay attention and could only make out Shotgun?

:exactly:
Never failed to incite a shriek from someone in the audience in the three times I watched it.

I really want Savin to get made even if it's just an extra headsculpt for IP.
Not scary but it made me swear loudly :D

If they can't secure RDj at least until they are done with avengers 3 or I dunno iron man 4 or 5, they gotta be the dumbest negotiator or company ever.

They can't 'James bondsify' tony stark ; RDJ is tony stark.

I dunno how else other actor will portray tony stark after RDJ. The slightest joke or tounge in cheek remarks would be so awkward and cringey to watch.
They can recast hulk, widow, thor, cap, fury for all i care. Just give what RDJ what he wants and keep him as tony stark.
:goodpost: Agreed on all counts

can someone tell me which armor mark this one is?

Where did you get that from?

Going through the Art of Iron Man 3 book... there are some damn good storyboards I wish they did in the final battle.
Woah! Are they nuts to have not used these for the final cut? They did all of the 'explore Tony Stark' for the entire movie, so why not this? :cuckoo: :pfft:

It'll be interesting if Tony abandons the Prehensile suit idea since it didn't work that well in process in IM3. :)

I was surprised by the film's violence in general. Tony has killed people before but he killed a lot of people in IM3.
