Is it just me or is SS really getting...blahh

I just wanted to see if anyone else shared my views that SS has become pretty blah regarding new releases lately. I mean I know their pretty slow, which is a good thing in some cases, but when they do release something its ether very blah (Godfather bust, Hellboy bust)...or as of recently...very poor quality. No new licenses, the last PF (Abomination)....blah again (given I orderd one)....but still...of alllll the PF to make... Abomination??... whats the deal SS???

Well what are you looking for? The economy could be a big reason we are not see a flood of product or new licenses. People are not going to drop money hand of fist on toys right now so SS isn't going to flood the maket with tons of stuff that could sit on shelves. They are playing fairly smart IMO right now.

Yes, the economy is Sh** right now...however it still doesnt explain their poor choices in major pieces. Their Hellboy bust is nothing to shake a stick at....the recent Godfather bust looks like they got the same guy that painted their Iron man bust....and then theirs PF Abomination. Its like they keep missing all the big trends to keep up with. Then when they do make them...no one cares or wants them..

being new to SS, I've had a butt load of fun buying 6 PF's and 1 Comiquette within a 5 month period so i'm actually grateful that they didn't announce anything that I must own because truth be told, i'm broke at this moment in regards to my hobby budget, new baby in the hosue and all.

But I do agree to a certain extent with what you're saying because if I wasn't new and playing catch up and I was craving for something new from Marvel (all I collect) then all I would really want is the Classic IM BUT only after I see pictures of him post release so it's not even a blind purchase.

Abom....heck no....even with my baby in the house people would still say that i'm the 40 yr old virgin.....joking, who cares about that.

It's more because he just looks like a very nicely sculpted big monster from any horror or sci-fi movie instead of something that you instantly look at and you know that it's the Marvel character Abomination.

Can you tell, i'm not a big Abom fan....sue me ok....

Please, don't even get me started on the first Sports Drink that SS is releasing...

I used to see something I wanted to pre-order almost every week, but the last couple months I haven't really seen anything I wanted to pre-order (Patient Zero PF Ex was an exception, but the Website crashed and I wasn't able to get one). I can't complain about this though, because it keeps me from over spending. I already have over $5300 worth of pre-orders pending.

well..........the thing for me is that they r just killing the aliens/predator license, i am just so not impressed with what they have released from this line except the celtic bio, but the last great piece in this line for me was the p1 maquette and that was years ago. this line is in a serious need of another grade A piece.

Nothing....Nothing....Nothing....will change my mind on that one....

Iron Man is Iron Man and he resides in all our hearts therefore it just comes down to the design.

Not an X-23, B-25, Z-17 or S-10 and not even Vitamin B-12 will ever enter that heart of mine no matter how hot SS makes her look and how well designed she is (and i'm sure she will be of good quality, that I don't doubt).

Why, because for me personally....she doesn't represent Marvel for me even though she is from Marvel.

I said it once and I'll say it again...she looks like a high schooler on a Matrix Skiing trip at the bimbo mansion.

I have to agree, I've been very disappointed with all the releases from prepaint companies lately that I was initially VERY excited about.

- CM Pred
- SS Iron Man Bust
- SS Moria Orc

There a couple others but those are the majors... I am VERY worried about how the Grievous bust is going to turn out.

Luckily I have Joe Dunaway working on some AMAZING kits for me not to mention the economy blows and I shouldn't be spending money of collectibles, so it's made penny pinching a bit easier lol!

i'm pretty pumped about all the star wars stuff ss has coming out...and my first PF purchase(anakin skywalker exc) which i'll finish flexpaying this month. i think still has alot left to do and in my opinion theyre doing it right.

I just don't buy that much anymore. The next p.f. I will probably get will be the Berserker. Other then that there's a few Hot Toys figures I wanna get...

But, I still look forward to the newsletter on Thursday (admittedly not as much as I used to). And, am looking forward to seeing what's announced at Toy*Fair.
