But how, its always the same stuff...aliens, predator, terminator, lord of the rings, iron man.....what the hell put out something different. Theirs a million licenses to go after but.....anything new is usually blah....at least thats what it seems.

Chris

I WISH they had more LotR stuff!!!!

I think the economy ploy may just be giving SS a little to much credit. It may just be they have very little to put out!...the fact that were in a recession at the same time may just be coincidence. If your a hardcore collector and see something you want... money really doesn’t become and obstacle. Because you KNOW your going to find a way to get it some how. The reasoning some people have used ..."they have thousands of dollars of stuff on pre-order" DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING....that just says you an impulse buyer! When you have actually paid for and bought $5000+ worth of stuff....then I may believe your argument. But right now...it’s all smoke....and odds are you will cancel more than half of those orders. The truth is SS isn’t putting anything out people want...sure their will always be people there to buy the stuff they ARE PUTTING out........but he majority aren’t getting what their asking for. Poor business planning if you ask me, a big loss at capitalizing on interest and demand. Like why don’t they take a survey instead of shooting in the dark with these pieces...

Chris

I'm sure some people could use the break because of the economy.

I don't think the recent releases have been that great to me personally. Honestly though it's alright cause it gives me a bit of a break, but with that said I still have plenty pre-ordered that's gonna drain the bank account.

I think sideshow has been lacking in six scale figures. Especially after this past year with hot toys really stepping up their game with their dark knight line.

Agree 100% even subway jack is way better quality than sideshow 1/6 figure they gotta step up their game or they loose business

Well what are you looking for?
What is it exactly that you think it is that people want? What do you think it is that people are asking for and not getting? Why not start a poll of these items that they aren't making? I'd be very interested to see what I'm wanting and not getting.

Man,

I wish I could say that I had over $5300 worth of pre-orders from a company that's a little blah...

:D:(:D

:rotfl Hey, I did say blah lately. I didn't say Sideshow was blah. Unless they keep producing stuff I'm not interested in.

What are you talking about? The thread is about has Sideshow become blah. I'm the one who said I have over $5000 in pre-orders and it was not to complain about the economy, it was to say that I actually wanted those things and now I don't see any release of interest to me. For your information, I spent more than that at Sideshow last year. Quote someone if you want to talk about the economy, but don't use my statement for a comment that doesn't make any sense.

BTW, I rarely ever cancel. Your statement is very loaded and full of assumptions.

Maybe SS has a bunch of exciting new stuffs to be announced shortly? Afterall, we have Toy Fair coming up soon and of course, there is the evergreen SDCC.

Oh, how I wish I have $5000 to spend on collectibles! :) There are so many items that I want at the moment but I can only go for a few of them due to budget constraints. If only I can win the lottery!

As for whether SS has become blahh lately, my humble opinion is "no". They are still the SS we know. And they will still be having a bunch of items for us to get excited about.

everbody ^^^^^es at the Marvel pieces SS puts out, but fail to acknowledge its Marvel that makes the character decisions .... :monkey1

... and regarding what other stuff they put out, I just hope they keep up with the occasional odd-ball pieces. I think thats the coolest thing about the company.
Tremors Graboid, The Fly maquettes, Pumpkinhead, Reign of Fire bust, etc .... those are the pieces I enjoy the most and hope they continue

This is always a slow time of year for announcements from Sideshow. We always see the most new stuff at Toy Fair, SDCC and Spook with trickles of new announcements in between. Sideshow has such a diversity of licenses and lines that you aren't going to please everybody with every new piece announced.

What drives me crazy is teases of new products or new licenses and then months and months of waiting before we see anything concrete.

What do I want? A Stormtrooper PF and lots of Indy. Make is so, Sideshow. :D

I agree with Toysales and Choopie. That's what I figured too. With Toyfair coming up, they're probably holding on some announcements til then. I wouldn't say SSC is necesarily "blah", but I have noticed that they've been a little light on the newsletters lately. I'll start to worry if nothing major in unveiled during Toyfair.

I've got 9 1/6 figures on pre-order through them from GI-Joe, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and The Dead. So honestly I'm not hurting for excitement.

Especially that this year we are finally gonna get a Vader (who looks kickass) Stormtroopers, Toht (with melty head) I have no complaints.

Basically what this thread translates as: Sideshow is putting out things not to Atheris666's taste. Therefore Sideshow releases are getting boring. :lol

Sorry but this thread = FAIL.

:wave

Sideshow overall is just fine. They put out plenty of cool products throughout the year, and let's not forget their distribution deals with Hot Toys, Medicom, etc.

However, Sideshow's 1:6 Figure prospects become dimmer with each passing day. Only a couple of their future SW releases (and perhaps Cobra Commander) can revive their rep in this area. The DEAD is popular right now, but that's a fad that is destined to die down at some point... and possibly soon. If the SW line ever truly starts to stumble, consider SSC out of the 1:6 game for good. And perhaps that will be for the best. They certainly can't hold a candle to what the likes of Hot Toys and Enterbay are doing.
