I would agree as well. Both are fantastic films, but Star Trek has the edge.

For me it was just a little more exciting. How cool would it have been if they came out the same year? Damn! It would have been interesting that's for sure.

I think the Harry Potter decision maker shouldn't have delayed Half Blood Prince.

I still think TDK was better. I never watched that movie for the action anyway. :dunno

But Star Trek was the same as Iron Man to me...didnt expect much, but enjoyed it emensly.

Couldn't disagree more. Iron Man was such a shallow film. The main villian wasn't even cool. RD was ^^^^ing awesome though. I hope the second one is better and they delve further into the character.

Now onto The Dark Knight. It was fantastic! Don't get me wrong. But this movie had WAY more emotion and character development behind it IMO. Not to mention just flat out action. Star Trek is the better movie again IMO.

Oh....the knife.....my back.....Iron Man comments......the pain.......

Ya know, I really hope we get more than just two more films with this crew. I will never forget how I discovered TOS: it was way back when it used to run on my local PBS and I was staying over my grandmothers. She noticed what I was watching and was surprised. She told me that my late grandfather used to watch Star Trek and say "that's how the world should be", in reference to the lack of discrimination. That is one of the things that ALWAYS shaped me and part of my love for Trek, that it connected me to the grandfather that I almost knew.

I still don't get all of the IRON MAN tweaking. I think it's great and about as good as an Iron Man origin film ever could be, RDJ or not.

Not sure what you mean by tweaking but I still thought it was just ok at best. The only thing that held my interest was RDJ. The rest was not crap but just meh....

I think one of the reasons I preferred Star Trek is because of the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong Nolan set up a brilliant and realistic atmosphere in the Dark Knight, but I'm a sucker for space. :lol

TREK is also a much tighter movie, editing-wise.

Well, since we're comparing movies, I might as well try also.

Star Trek > Gremlins.

Atmosphere is better. However, Gremlins had Phoebe Cates.

You called her Uhuru when it's Uhura, Mike felt like busting your balls.

No, Roddenberry got it wrong - he meant for her name to be the Swahili word for freedom - which is Uhuru.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Huh we can say that the creators got it wrong now? The Star Wars forums are about to implode onto themselves. :lol

Just saw it and enjoyed it as well, like everyone else seems to be.

My main criticism would be that there could have been a few scene extensions, especially earlier in the film as the pieces where being set up, just to flesh things out a bit. It seems to jump rather quickly from troubled child, to troubled 25 year old to I'm in starfleet. Minor criticism really. Totally enjoyed the film, as did everyone else I was with - which is all that matters.

Really dug the little alien that hung out with Scotty - who better be in the next flick more. Bones has become my favorite character though - Urban is perfect. There were very nice subtle references to the classic series, exactly the way a film like this should do it. Like everyone else, I look forward to this series' potential.

I did not enjoy the trailers for either G.I. Joe or Transformers 2 however.

But this movie had real people in it. Avatar is going to be motion capture. Which means that Robert Zemeckis is going to love it, but the general audience won't connect to the lifeless CGI zombies up on the screen, just as with Polar Express and Beowulf.

Yeah I broke down and saw it tongiht too. It was a really great movie :monkey5just Like the Dark Knight and I hope it dose as well $$....Now I only hope Terminator Salvation is just as good:angelsmil.
