I liked the lens flares. That in addition to the way the bridge was done made it feel.. new and warm I guess you could say.
Although I thought it was funny that there were still lens flares inside the snow cave.
Hey, I didn't make the thing! It's just a preview of the classic episode "Space Seed" with a ton of lens flare added.

Like others have posted. I really didn't notice it. I will have to go back and watch it again again.
I did not notice Lens Flare. I guess I was too wrapped up in the movie itself.
I also want to mention that Anton Yelchin was brilliant as Checkov.
The accent was perfect, I guess it helps that he was born in Russia.
