I complained. Chips, paint issues, foot broken off...

And I am still waiting for Sideshow to respond.

I'm sure they'll make it right, but it's taking a really long time to hear back about it.

'Tis a shame, since I saw that the people LOVED theirs and there weren't any paint issues with the vast majority. I guess when you have 6,000 to make, there's bound to be one or two bad apples.

It's currently in its box awaiting its fate.

Call them on the phone m8.... It will work better.

Got my RMA this morning. Surprising, since 9 times out of 10 I take a hammer to flawed pieces. Just means I have to wait two weeks for a replacement...

Speaking of waiting (and getting back on topic), also got word that Spidey will be delayed until June. Oh well.

I just canceled my EX so somebody is about to convert! Congrats
I hate that I had to do it but financial responsibilities are calling.. tis life...

This will be my first Spidey statue, I really like the matte look and that the blue is darker than the original comiq. This pose grew on me, wasn't sure about the longer fingers at first but after all the pics, I don't think I will care once in hand. I just started collecting mid January, and am bummed to find all the statues I want are long sold out (1/4 Spiderman, Venom, Carnage and Rhino). Regardless, I will still get the original 1/4 Spidey comiq as soon as I get some funds together, as most of you, this will be a grail for me.

I am pretty damn excited, my Skaar EX is on the way and am figuring out I will need to work more overtime to fuel this addicting habit lol. :panic: Looking forward to becoming a freak. :lol

Those are some very nice statues to start your collection off with. Skaar is one of my personal faves and I'm sure you will be very happy with the new Spidey Com when it arrives. Good luck trying to hunt down the older pieces. We were all new to the hobby at one time and had to hunt down older pieces. My only advise is to not fall for the hype surrounding the older statues. Pick out the characters that really mean something to you and hunt them down. Forget about the other "grail pieces". It doesn't make sense spending a grand or more for characters you really have no ties to. Your collection should always represent/reflect your tastes. Oh, before I forget...WELCOME to the freaks board Temek!

Thanks for the advice and welcome Filip, I have been trying to figure out the wants vs needs. So far, the only one worth chasing down to me is the 1/4 Spidey Com, the Grey Hulk PF is a close second but that piece is way out of my price range. Since I like fully sculpted comiquettes, looks like I will have to make space for 1/5 but I rather focus primarily on 1/4. Skaar EX is a good example of how mixed media can work to me. Gambit PF is also another good example how fabric can be something I didn't think I would like. No offense to anyone who likes fabric. :lol

I will just make sure that I do not miss anything that comes out in the future instead of trying to buy expensive pieces that will eventually be revisited. :impatient:

Welcome Temek nice to see a new member on the boards. The thrill of the hunt is always fun yet sometimes difficult and addicting. Like Filip said don't get to drawn into the grails unless it's what you really want. I myself am missing the Comiquette Spidey and PF Green Goblin. I would kill for both. :wave

Thanks for the welcome TX_Boy_210 and I agree with what you said, the thrill of the hunt is definitely hard to resist. For me, reading this entire thread just to hear what other people are anticipating before any previews were up, the initial reactions from SDCC, to seeing how quick the EX went to wait list. I got to see the opinions from people who have the original Spidey com and what they think of the new one and vice versa.

Whoa, just saw the GG PF and I can see why you want that one too, I think the fabric was done very well on that piece. :rock

i am on the WL for this Spidey as of 1/23, hopefully it converts as it would be the first EX I get from SS directly.

Welcome Temek! Hope your conversion works out, I think it will.

This is good advice and something I came to agree with on my collecting journey. My problem is I do have a connection to many of these characters, I've been reading them since I was a boy and I'm not far from 30, that's over 20 years with these characters on a continuous basis for most of my life. But expensive ones like Cap I decided to let go...and here comes another Cap. I had to have the Spidey Com but I agree, pick your favorite character or 2 to pursue and wait for the rest to be revisited. For minor characters that might not be revisited any time soon, there will be more than enough to catch your eye.

Welcome Temek. You got some good advice here, and you already got sme great ideas. However, I gotta agree the 1/4 Spidey Com is a AMAZING, but I wouldn't wait to LONG to track it down. When I started here about a year and a half ago it was going for about $600, and now it is going for $900-$1200. It is SO AMAZING though. I just got mine a few months ago, and I adore it.

Welcome Temek... Get out of this hobby while you still can... :lol, JK...
