And Kuat, repaint that Hasbro. Won't cost you much and honestly it can really be polished. I repainted mine back before Sideshow offered there's; aside from the overall proportions of he figure beeing to squat the actual sculpting is quite good. The outfit isn't awful either, but needed to be dirtied up a bit.

Yes, that's a huge improvement.

Looks like I still have good selection of acrylics. Now all I need to do is put my mind to it. :)

I sat down with him one afternoon and after a marathon of about 8 hours I had him completed. If you do the full repaint I'd suggest dissassembling him first; you basically have to crack the torso piece open to get the arms, legs and head off.

But when you do its much, much easier to paint... this is what it looked like when I was working on him to give you an idea:

I would basically paint one coat on each piece and by the time I finished the first piece would be dry and ready for the second. I think I used 3 layers of green, making it a bit lighter each time to give it some depth. Not a super difficult one, probably the hardest was detail work around the eyes and getting the straps painted cleanly on his feet.

Well heck, I'd better post my repaint again. ;) Sorry I don't have a smaller image. I agree that the sculpt is good -- in some ways I think it's more accurate to the actual costumes than the Sideshow figure. However, I do think that the Sideshow versions are better overall and fit in better with the other Sideshow stuff in a Jabba display.

Amazing repaints - all of them!

The reason I went further with my SSC/Hasbro hybrid, is I tried to narrow Hasbro Gammy's shoulders (he's too boxy, which is the overall biggest issue with him besides the raccoon eyes) and by the time I did that, I realized I wanted arm articulation to properly hold the staff, so went to town.

The custom ended up with much better head and arm articulation (he can look straight up/down and put his arms across his chest) than the SSC - and it cost maybe $35.

Despite the brown nose and lack of arm articulation, I still love the SSC one, and I prefer the first release over Gartogg - the open mouth looks a little odd to me, but he's still a Gammy, so he's great too!

Also, I built the Gartogg exclusive axe out of the smaller Hasbro axe with a bit of sheet styrene added and painted, and it looks exactly the same as the SSC one.

I still may do another Gammy because, as the painting shows, there were more than two in the Palace.

Nah, it was universally agreed amongst the other gammies that Jubnuk was a giant POS. They were only too happy to watch him die, FLOSI!
