I haven't seen him in person yet, but I have to say, as a Jabba the character fan, and a big fan of the ROTJ look, I think he is worth every penny. Having done sculpting myself in art classes as part of my college education, I know the time and work it takes to get something right, and on that large a scale, so knowing the time and careful study that had to be put into nailing his sculpt, I think we easily get our money's worth in time and effort.

I hear that brother. I can't wait to re create the entire throne scene. Or at least make an attempt. I bought a huge table to put him on. Do you know of any good places for reference pics?

It's not much the sculpt that bothers me as it is the paint apps on this. It just doesn't seem worth $120. Esp. after having some medicom and hot toys collectibles in hand. :)

Trying to work from home just doesn't work for me. This Jabba discussion is way more important. LOL! It's hard when you know there is no one looking over your shoulder. Oh well.

Totally agree Maul... with a figure like this its a lot of money spent developing a one-off sculpt that they won't use again. I don't think we'll see 3 variants of the slug like you get with Hot Toys :lol Same with the throne... it may just be a giant slab, but it looks like a lot of time and effort went into it :rock

Exactly, and truly, if you like Jabba and want a great representation of this appearance, I don't think any piece will ever give you as great an appearance as this, they nailed it from every angle and using materials to keep the cost down as best they could, and they split the two so if the throne were out of your range you could still nab up the Hutt and all his glory for a 1/3 of the whole deal's cost.

That's why I just took a vacation day, this is not a day for me to try and focus from home, bad enough I had to act like a sleuthy spy yesterday at work to get my Maul PF order in because it was 3pm for non-owner ordering and I can't easily push lunch break that late.

I saw a couple different measurements on here. I'm wondering exactly how long the throne is, how deep, and how high NOT including the gargoyles and railing, etc. Just for the slab. I'm trying to figure out and HOPING I'll have just enough room to fit him on a certain display shelf and I think it'll be VERY tight. I can figure out how high the whole thing will be with Jabba as it says his measurements on Sideshow's site. I think they measured the gargoyles into it for the throne though. He'll be here very soon and I'm getting worried I won't have enough room for my new roommate, lol.

I think someone who has the time needs to post pics of all the Jedi's on Jabbas throne with the hookah. I think this would be great! LOL! Have some just lying on the floor passed out. Then pose others in a circle indian style like they were passing it around. LOL!

Mine is supposed to come today but the weather here is less then good, however the tracking number says ready for delviery today or something like that, should I be worried?

Mind-Reader! Not quite like that, but I was planning to have a "Jabba's Here" celebration photo with all of his 1/6 bretheren, and since I have all of the 1/6 figures it'll be a complete image.

You must have missed this:

BTW, the dimensions of the throne base, excluding the gargoyles, are 25.5" x 15" x 4"....

Thanks so much Metaphorge, I did miss it. 100 pages of a thread, it's like finding a needle in a haystack, but you found it! Thanks

Heh, if I had not measured it and posted the dimensions I never would have found it, either....

Well, I was just checking my tracking info and looks like my office must have closed for the day, a wise choice luckily they're smart and care about people's saftey, plus I'm sure many people didn't show up anyhow, so at least when I go in tomorrow, the goofy looks will only be for a few minutes :)

ERRRR, waiting for Jabba is quite fustrating, I think the slush is slowing down FEd-EX and I have work at 5 so unless he gets here before then I'm screwed for the time being.

My Jabba and throne just arrived at my office. It's funny because I sent them here thinking that no one would be home, but it turns out that my mother in law is there babysitting. D'OH! I don't know how I'm gonna get these two big boxes home.

I just got Jabba today, he is MUCH bigger than I expected. He really was a fat f%^$ :D
