Jabba 12" Image Thread

As neat as Jabba is he is totally the wrong scale with the 12" figures. My Illusive maquette was more accurate in size and scale. Slave Leia is going to look like a giant lying next to him. I tried sizing my Hasbro Slave Leia next to him and she was way to big. This is more of a PF diorama but not quite to scale for 1:6 figures. I'm kind of disappointed by that.

My throne arrived yesterday and was followed by the big slug himself today. This set up is simply amazing. Size, paint, overall feel - everything is exactly as I was expecting and hoping. The scale of Jabba looks dead on to me - Bib has to lean over in Jedi to talk to him, and that's the case here. I've had my Hasbro Bib stuck with my Illusive Concepts Jabba for years, but Jabba always looked oversized. I have mine set right next to the PC, so I can look at him every time I wait for a page to load.

I'm still unsure of the scale, too. At first glance, I thought he was about 10% too small... then I took a picture with Abe Sapien lying in Slave Leia's position and the scale didn't look TOO far off. I am very happy with the Jabba setup but if I've got one complaint it's that he's ever so slightly too small.

Better that than monkey arms, tho!

Seriously though. The movie picture shown does not have Bib standing at full height. He actually has one foot on the throne and one on a lower stair. I would say Jabba is perfect. Its just our strange rememberences of Jabba that make him so large. I call it the "I saw the Biggs footage when I first saw ANH" syndrome.

Also, I got my throne today but no Jabba yet. The pictures shown on any website do not do this thing justice. AND ITS FRICKIN HUGE MAN!!

WOW! I forgot how HUGE Jabba is in person. The pics online make him seem SO much smaller! The throne is ginormous too! I can ship my dog in its box! I seriously don't think he is underscaled by any means. He. Is. BIG!

Mine is pretty fumey. Going to let him air out a bit. His arms did seem to have paint not quite dry yet so I figure I'll let him air out and dry before I move him much. The table I set aside for him is JUST big enough. Very little room around it. Not sure where Bubo is going to go.

I must say this is the largest thing I have ever gotten in the mail. Plus I got 1-2 extra "Discount" version thrones! The grey styrofoam protecting the throne are just as big and bigger than the throne. Heck, if my brother ends up buying a Jabba I'll let him have one of these for a throne!

Yeah.... I just got mine today and DAMN... this thing is HUGE!! I love it though... just amazing having a Jabba setup in my collection. Big thanks to SSC for making that happen....

I'm very very pleased....

Mind the gathering... I'm in mid move and they are the last few that are still out of the boxes...

Got mine today. My wife was already mad that I got him, but when she saw the boxes, she almost fainted. I promised her that I would not open them till after Valentine's day. Well, she could not hold it anymore and told me to open them, so she 'could see what she wasted 300 dollars on'. 1st came out Jabba, and she said 'you wasted $100 on him?' I told her 'yup, worth every penny to me'. Next was the throne..I grabbed the throne part, and was impressed how solid it is. She pulled out the railing, and said 'what the hell?, This is gonna break the shelves. (i have it on my electronics stereo shelves for now). Once I got it together, she still complained how much we spent on it, but I think it is slowing growing on her..she has been sending pics of it to all her friends.

Pics online do not do it justice. It is so damn huge. It makes everything look so small around it. Not sure where I am gonna put him, once my wife makes me kick him out of the living room.
