Oh and to whoever it was who said their Hasbro Leia was huge next to Jabba... how tall is the Hasbro Leia.... because don't forget that Carrie Fisher is a short arse, something like 5'1" or something. I'm betting that the toy Leia makes her closer to 6' or something. A 'proper' in scale version would look just fine :) Darren

I'm thinking the GG Slave Leia statue will look perfect....

HOLY CRIP HE'S A CRAPPLE!!! LOL, some of you may get that reference, back on focus, I don't have much time cuz I'm working right now, but I took him out of the box like instantly when he got here and OMG!!!! Not so blown away by length cuz I have larger (Bruce the Shark) but his fatness, wow he's BIG. As for the paint and the overall piece, OMG!!!! BLOWN AWAY!!!! I'd have spent 3 times his cost to get this thing, sooooooooo worth waiting for, now if I can just go home and break out the throne :)

Sweet MF! Knew you'd be stoked!!! I was really surprised as well about how thick Jabba is... he is one fat f**k :lol

Got the throne, getting the slug, and I can't wait to get the Gammys back from Mikey. This is going to be such a kick ass display.

FINALLY! CONGRATS MF!

I don't want to work now lol, he's on my desk to the back of my chair and I keep turning back like, I gotta play with him. As a warning to others getting theirs these days, I too had the "wet paint" deal it's odd, it looks wet but if you touch it, at least mine, it doesn't come off or anything so shouldn't be much of an issue. LOTS of photos and a good review tonight when I get home...

Rest on a table Jabba will not. Bad the weather was. Table the store does not have. Another day tomorrow is. Damn weather. I want my table.

Well, finally I can begin contributing real images to this thread, here's the first of many, Jabba claiming his terf, awaiting his royal throne to be put in place. I just got home from work so had just enough time to get him back out of his box and snap this shot before dinner, more images coming throughout the evening :)

Love the poster MF.

Is it not worthy of a dry mount and frame?

Nice to see you finally received yours.

Can't wait for the artistic images :clap :rock

got my jabba all together! BEAUTIFUL piece. love love love it.

i just used some ticky tack (actually, don't know the name of the stuff...nick nack tack or something) to keep his drink in his right hand....looked to cool to pass on it, and the stuff won't hurt the piece.

well done Sideshow. I don't collect much of anything these days, but i'm SOOO happy I got this guy

I love the poster, one of my favorite pieces in my collection, and framing it is something I deffinately want to to do but it won't be cheap so just hasn't been in the cards at the moment. While I'm setting up for images, I will address the Jabba paint/color issue Wor-Gar asked me about recently. Jabba's colors are an olive green for his green areas, and for his fleshy area, it looks to me to be a sandy brown with a hint of green to it. As for the application of the paint of the piece versus pictures, I can only speak of mine but here's the low down. Jabba's face does appear a faint shade darker of the brown than his body, but it is very subtle and if you weren't scrutinizing it you wouldn't notice. Many images that have been posted almost make the face look 5 times darker than the belly, this is either due the flash catching the stomach and the face falling into shadow, or perhaps some people do have Jabbas with significantly lighter stomachs. Surprisingly, the green and brown feature a much stonger mixture of tones, similar to some of the face shading we've seen in the skin tones of the other SW 1/6 pieces, and it works great, especially highlight the ripples in his arms. As for the painting of his eyes, I would say the eyes are orange, but combinations of light style and the fact that they have a metallic shine to them, gives them a range from nearly yellowish to vibrantly red in various pictures. Right now where mine is, they look red in my room but at work they were orange. Whatever shade they lean towards in lighting, they look fantastic and most importantly, they stand out, where past representations of the character, other than the 1983 Kenner, have tended to have the eyes nearly the same shade as his flesh toned area and that would lead to them looking lost. As for the drool, it's a toothpasty green, and looks great, but it's very small and subtle, so if anyone is concerned about it being too much, shouldn't be a problem unless I lucked out and got one with a lighter application of that color.
