Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Were you answering Gido!?

Old SSC Bond heads were solid resin, not vinyl, they're a lot harder to get off the post. The post on the Buck bodies is unique to it and no other head would really fit it. You're best off ditching the Buck and using a TT or equivalent.
I've done it with bond heads (Connery and Moore)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

It's not that great. For a striaght black tuxedo the best is the Toys City offering by a mile. If it's for Craig it's not accurate to skyfall or casino royale most close to quantum of solace I'd say but no the move iconic outfit for that severely mediocre to poor film.

Thanks. Was thinking about it as it came with a few weapons but will go with the Toys City one as it is definetly more accurate after seeing a few pics. :)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

As long as the sculpt is made of resin and has a sculpted neck, you can definitely use custom sculpts on the old SS bodies. Just a touch of super glue and you're all set.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Dubby, your Scotland Bond looks awesome. All of these BBKill sculpts are looking top-notch. Wor-Gar, the Zorin custom is great too. :)

I'm trying to get back to working on my Bonds, but I've been busy with paying sculpting work to buy Christmas gifts. I'm bidding on a Lazenby to play with, though, so that's something to look forward to.

The bbkill might look undersized on the sideshow body. Just make sure you like how it looks if you plan on attaching with glue.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yes I do:

The SSC body is on the right and you can see there that the neck post is really long and the SSC heads had really long necks. Even if the custom head has a neck it may be too short, or you will have to drill a deep hole in the neck to accommodate the SSC post.

You'd be better off with a newer body

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Mmm, so I see,

However, the Universal figures predate Buck bodies and I think that heads for Bucks may have been resin.
The Universal Monsters used buck bodies. The Bond heads were the same material as the western series and the monsters and even the beginning Star Wars. It is a hard white vinyl that will bend when heated.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Ok, fair enough, I do know though that the Frankenstein Monster wasn't a Buck, it had a completely different head and neck assembly and a PVC head.

Anyway, why you'd still want to use one with a modern head is beyond me, the gear fits later bodies for which the heads are better designed.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Pitty-I don't like any more my sideshow Bond heads, but I was hoping bodies could be useful with new heads. Now I see-it's bad idea...

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Man, all you guys were so right about the Toyscity Tuxedo -- absolutely sharp as a knife!!!

Here's a compare of the...
original Sideshow Dr. No Bond in tux VS. new TCT Tux on same figure...

Forgot the pocket square.

NOTE: on this particular bash I'm using the Mens Hommes TUXEDO SHIRT and not the TCT shirt.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The difference is night and day. The old looked like a frumpy low-end doll, and the new looks like a nice collectible. Now if that heads gets a very realistic repaint it will match nicely with the suit.
