Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Gido, I think his posture looks fine.
Maybe adjust shirt collar? or find a better one?

I haven't found a suitable body either. I've consider padding him up but the clothing is so tight as it is. He's also too short for Kiel. Should be 14" and he's really like 13.5

What jacket did you get that fits well? Mine is really tight, I'd like to get a looser one that also hangs lower.

That group shot is pending me finishing up a couple custom Bond projects -- more unlikely characters you thought you'd never see. Thank you for the kind comment. :)

Here is a quick photo of Jaws in his jacket, it fits well, even has working buttons (I think it comes from a Ken Barbie doll, but not sure, there are no labels inside)
planning to find a better tie and of course adjust shirt collar :)

I have added Hot Toys leg thickeners and they now look less stick like.
Maybe better to keep this body after all?

And now I am very very curious to see what other Bond figures you are making :)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Cool! Jacket works if you consider it Moonraker colors where he wore brown/tan.

I look at that face and I feel tempted to pale him out a bit, fix those eyebrows, texture the hair a bit... maybe even add a bit more 'flip' to his hair.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

yeah, thank you, it will be the best I have to be happy with. At least it fits (you don't want to know how many jackets I have tried)
Still prefer the blue version like yours.

Never saw a repaint of Jaws, could give the sculpt its full glory.

You know what would be cool?

Yes! I've been on the hunt for many, many years. Almost bought one from that guy in Argentina who used to sell on ebay. I can't even find parts -- no head, no little butler suit of any kind. But I keep looking.

Very nice jacket... I need to get one for my Jaws-- either that or some suspenders.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Anybody 'round here get their bbkill sculpt yet? How about the inigou sculpt?

Curious how those two stack up against each other.

They are both excellent sculpt, but for me personally,
I like Inigou's sculpt a little better.
I see more Craig in Inigou's sculpt.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Anyone receive their invoice for the latest round of sculpts from BBKill? I think it's still round 2, right?

I received mine but it was incorrect and needed to be updated. Chu said he was going to do that but I'm still waiting. In the meantime I've been contemplating inigou's version also. Think inigou's is better for Casino Royale while bbkill's looks more like the shaved-down Craig in Skyfall.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

just fooling around...

He's really nicely painted, but, I can't help thinking that the sculpt looks a wee bit stylised. The ears seem to stick out too much to me. I'd like to see you paint up Inigou's sculpt. Sorry of this is a necropost from a few pages back, but my notifications went AWOL.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Both sculpts are good, but in terms of likeness, hands-down BBKill's is the winner. The Inigou sculpt is a little soft and IMO, exaggerated in a few areas. But damn fine work nonetheless.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I'm not sure I'm too much into the inigou sculpt. I love him and think he's super talented and it's one of the better ones but for some reason all I see is Jermey Renner in American Hustle.

For me the BBKill is about aa perfect a likeness as we've seen in all billion attempts

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The thing that gets me about both the Inigou and BBKill sculpts is that as soon as they leave ZBrush they're out of their hands. Both look great in ZBrush, but, they then get passed to people they'll never see doing things they can't control. If they could work with printers, mould makers and casters that they could see at every step I think we'd get much better products. BBKill's really seem to me to suffer once they're cast. Inigou's Brosnan did look slightly better, but not much. HT and DID's do seem to be consistent and I would imagine it's because the majority of the work will be done in one place.

That's all part of the process and whatever agreement you have with the people working with you. If I paid someone to clean and cast a sculpt, I'd expect back a final master that perfectly matched the original 3D sculpt. Of course that level of perfection will come at a higher price no doubt.

Most mass produced products are done like this, designed and "sculpted" in 3D and then off to make injection (or other) moulds. It's not a one-shot process and there will always be samples made in the middle to make sure everything matches the design.

I was under the impression that BBKill was cleaning the initial 3D prints himself to make a master which would then be used to make the mould(s). Someone else is doing that whole process for him?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Ok, maybe he does clean up the 3D prints, but, I'm sure they are then sent away to be moulded and casted and it seems to be here where I've seen both BBKill and WGP sculpts go awry. A while back, WGP sent me one of the .obj files that was used to make the smiling Indy and I rendered it for them in one of my 3D programs using different focal lengths for the virtual camera. One of them looked like Chu's original pics and one looked like what we got.

I know that not every artist can oversee every stage of the production themselves, I was merely saying that it would be nice if they could.
