Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

As promised here's the comparison pics.
First of all, they are both excellent sculpts.
This most likely will turn out to be just a matter of personal preference on which one people will like.

For me personally, I give the edge...and its just slight to Inigou.
BBkill no doubt came out great. And I was very excited to get his sculpt because before him,
his sculpts was leaps and bounds better than any Craig before it.
When I saw Inogue's first attempts, honestly, I thought, good luck buddy. Bbkill would be hard to top.

But once he finalized it, I have to say, and again...I'm reiterating that speaking personally...I was wrong.
For me, the biggest thing is that on any angle, I see Daniel Craig.
Bbkill's...certain angle...not so much. But some angles. Dead on.

Ray did an excellent job squeezing every millimeter out of that sculpt to bring out the likeness.
But other than Ray, most of the sculpts I've seen of bbkill's look underwhelming, and they're not even a bad paint job.
But Ray has done a tremendous job. But I have to say, even with his paintjob, still...on certain angles...to me it looked a little off.
That's why I slightly favor Inogue's. To me, at any angle, I see Daniel Craig.

Now what I'm comparing with is just minute details. They are both excellent.
But I think when it comes to likeness, I think Inogue was able to squeeze out an extra 3-4% likeness to Daniel Craig.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Terrific comparison. Fun to see them both like this. Amazing -- just months ago there was few good Craigs out there (as most debated in this thread) and now here we have two gorgeous sculpts.

I agree -- the paintwork is as important to bringing out the likeness as the sculpt itself. Both need to be dead on. One thing though: great paintwork can save a poor sculpt, but a great sculpt is doomed by poor paintwork (as seen by many SS figures over the years).

Agree completely.
That's the good thing, Fortunately, both sculpts are leaps and bounds better than any other Craig sculpt out there.
You can't go wrong with either one.
It all really just comes to whichever one of the two you prefer.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Nice to have both.

I always thought maybe bbkill was good for Skyfall and inigou's was good for Casino Royale based on the hair.

actually that's a good point, the good thing is there's enough difference there to have the version people want to bash.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Where are Pixel, Rogerbee and Ray? They have been very vocal about the lack of a genuine representative Craig (other than bbkills) for months, and now we finally have photographic side-by-side and no comments? Now no comments? Come on, guys -- I'm curious where you all come in on this.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I commented before the side by side pictures went up - they didn't change my opinion, so I didn't add anything else yet.

Both sculpts are good, but in terms of likeness, hands-down BBKill's is the winner. The Inigou sculpt is a little soft and IMO, exaggerated in a few areas. But damn fine work nonetheless.

I still feel the same way, including from all angles - Craig himself looks odd from certain angles (like everyone else) so why shouldn't the sculpt? But I did learn something about the sculpts I wasn't sure of before - the Inigou is larger than BBKill's. ;)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

the Inigou is larger than BBKill's. ;)

That actually does open the field for bodies a bit, rather than being limited to the now-expensive Coulson body.

I'm lucky I got one -- one -- at a good price. Guess it becomes the Craig. Now if I could find another Toys City tux for a good price. Got the bleach.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

the now-expensive Coulson body.

Yeah, most original Hot Toys bodies seem to go for crazy prices with only a few lucky people finding them at a steal.

And thanks for bringing that up. Because if I haven't already asked, I've been meaning to… Do you (or anyone else) have a photo of the Coulson body next to one of the knock-off Narrow Shoulder bodies?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I don't. But you can easily go to ebay and find pics of both bodies to compare. That's what I usually do, like I did to find that ZCWO slim "cop" body that basically is the same as the TT slim.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Great comparison shots!

I still prefer BBKill's craig personally. Mainly due to the hair on inigou's. Its way too pompadour ish 70s looking to be accurate to anything Craig ever had. The face is still terriffic and I LOVE the Brosnan sculpt, but I think the hair would have to be completely resculpted to achieve the level of BBKills.

thankfully though, we have several top knotch artists working on bond portaits these days! With all the great options out there, its win/win for everyone!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

My feeling remains the same as well, and I align with both pixel piper and chilipeps comments.

Let me first start by saying that it's a great sculpt and one of the best attempts at Craig I've ever seen, but I still just see too much of Jeremy Renner in American hustle. It might be because of the hair, but I'm just not feeling this sculpt. I have to say I can see Remys point about certain angles of the bbkill looking off but I see even more angles being off on this one.

Once again it's a really great achievement though and as said before it's a win win either way but BBkills still edges it out by quite a bit IMO. If this is an 8/10 the bbkill is a 9/10

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

For me, it's Inigou by a country mile. The proportions are dead on, from every angle going it screams Craig to me. Ok, yes, it's a CR era Craig, but, that's not to say that Inigou won't do more recent versions later on, and if he can do a Craig this good now, imagine later ones! BBKill's were great when nothing else was around, but, now there is! The neck length on Inigou's might be a concern depending on the body chosen. With the DID body I don't think it'd be a problem. If I felt I could do a paint job worthy of it I'd grab Inigou's sculpt in a heartbeat.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Damn, that Coulson body is tiny. I couldn't tell that from looking at pictures of each body alone.

Gido, do you think you might be able to get a good measurement in cm/mm from foot to head of the Craig on Coulson body?
