Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD
Got the BBKill sculpt and it's very nice, BUT… It suffers precisely the same issue that some other sculpts do. And by "other sculpts" I don't only mean other Daniel Craig sculpts, but many sculpts in general. While this one captures Craig's likeness remarkably well (the best in my opinion), the facial features are too pinched together. Eyes too close together, cleft in lip too narrow, cheeks too thin, mouth slightly too small, nose too thin, chin too pointy, entire face a bit too narrow. This is precisely what causes some people to see the sculpt as "off" from some angles - because this thin-ness or pinched features cause certain angles to look worse than others.
There's no denying this is Craig however. Show it to anyone who would recognize the actor's photo, even unpainted, and they should immediately be able to tell you who it is. I doubt many people would be able to tell you that anything is off at all unless they looked at a photo at the same time. And others might feel something is slightly off but just not recognize what it is. This may have something to do with the way the 3D program's views were set up while modeling as Rogerbee hypothesized, but I'm 100% confident it's all in the sculpt, it has nothing to do with making certain settings when saving the 3D output file. In other words, this cannot be corrected without manipulating/changing the model, you can't simply re-save the existing file.
The overall size of the sculpt is pretty much exactly the same as that slightly-tanned eBay sculpt from last year - the same one many people were complaining was too small. The same one I showed side-by-side with other sculpts and mounted to a Hot Toys Narrow Shoulder knock-off boy. I'm sure the photos are still somewhere in the thread. I haven't put it on a body yet, but it does look like it must go on a Hot Toys Slim or similar body (HT Coulson, ZCWO police, etc.) The body can then be beefed up and fit with larger clothing, but this isn't gong to look "right" on a Hot Toys Regular or Narrow Shoulder knock-off. Those bodies would be too tall for Craig without modification as well.
Now that we have all that out of the way, what are people doing about the neck hole? Fill with Epoxy and re-drill for a peg? Blue tack or something else to loosely hold a neck plug? Glueing in a neck plug permanently?
