Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Got the BBKill sculpt and it's very nice, BUT… It suffers precisely the same issue that some other sculpts do. And by "other sculpts" I don't only mean other Daniel Craig sculpts, but many sculpts in general. While this one captures Craig's likeness remarkably well (the best in my opinion), the facial features are too pinched together. Eyes too close together, cleft in lip too narrow, cheeks too thin, mouth slightly too small, nose too thin, chin too pointy, entire face a bit too narrow. This is precisely what causes some people to see the sculpt as "off" from some angles - because this thin-ness or pinched features cause certain angles to look worse than others.

There's no denying this is Craig however. Show it to anyone who would recognize the actor's photo, even unpainted, and they should immediately be able to tell you who it is. I doubt many people would be able to tell you that anything is off at all unless they looked at a photo at the same time. And others might feel something is slightly off but just not recognize what it is. This may have something to do with the way the 3D program's views were set up while modeling as Rogerbee hypothesized, but I'm 100% confident it's all in the sculpt, it has nothing to do with making certain settings when saving the 3D output file. In other words, this cannot be corrected without manipulating/changing the model, you can't simply re-save the existing file.

The overall size of the sculpt is pretty much exactly the same as that slightly-tanned eBay sculpt from last year - the same one many people were complaining was too small. The same one I showed side-by-side with other sculpts and mounted to a Hot Toys Narrow Shoulder knock-off boy. I'm sure the photos are still somewhere in the thread. I haven't put it on a body yet, but it does look like it must go on a Hot Toys Slim or similar body (HT Coulson, ZCWO police, etc.) The body can then be beefed up and fit with larger clothing, but this isn't gong to look "right" on a Hot Toys Regular or Narrow Shoulder knock-off. Those bodies would be too tall for Craig without modification as well.

Now that we have all that out of the way, what are people doing about the neck hole? Fill with Epoxy and re-drill for a peg? Blue tack or something else to loosely hold a neck plug? Glueing in a neck plug permanently?

Curious how inigou's sculpt will stack up, piper. You and Ray and Roger seemed to really be on the bbkill-or-nothing bandwagon for so long until relatively recently; its somewhat surprising to see you guys pulling back the high praise. Pictures can be deceiving until you have it in hand.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Finished painting my Inigou sculpt Last night.
I'm really happy how it turned out. Took several days, but I think it went well.
Painted the hands as well.
I really really LOVE this sculpt. I think Inigou did an exceptional job capturing Daniel Craig.
My bond is not screen accurate, but more of a mesh between Casino royale and Skyfall.
I probably will get the DID ppk, and also the shoes.
But at the moment, the gun that came with the Cooltoy navy tux set is not bad.

I think Coulson body is small for this sculpt.
But the plus side is, the cooltoy tux is exceptional...a very nice quality tux, and with the Coulson body...it can be forgiving because
the overall result is a nice looking figure.
I'm very happy how this figure turned out. :)

No doubt! Inigou's sculpt is very noticeably bigger than BBkill's and would likely require something like a Narrow Shoulder knock-off to look in scale - making it a tiny bit shorter to match a 1/6 scale 5'10" shouldn't affect how well it looks on that body. You can probably use that sculpt on a TTM21 Regular which would even look better - I'll try it when I get nine in a few weeks.

I still feel it's the best likeness, but I don't mind pointing out its faults. Ask anyone who knows me, I'm always the absolutely first person to point out faults in everything I do myself too, even if I'm extremely proud of what I've accomplished. I drive myself extremely hard and often put up insane unachievable goals - as long as I get most way there I'm happy, and having that higher target helps me in the end. So I hope no one thinks these minor criticisms of others work means in any way I'm not pleased with them - I think the sculpt is fabulous - they both are.

I have come to like Inigous sculpt very much as well, but I don't think it's as recognizable as Craig when compared to BBKill's. I'm really interested to see it in hand and super stoked to get it painted by the same artist at the same time targeting the same reference photos and therefore same color palette.

I don't think it would take too much effort to put together a detailed list of the best parts of each sculpt outlining the changes necessary for the ultimate Daniel Craig. But I'm going to try and satisfy myself with one of these two fully painted up. :)

Understood. I think people around here are starting to understand that about you too.

It's fun to finally have this bad boy in hand though, right? After all these months, maybe year or more. I have him sitting on the shelf in front of my desk so I can glance on occasion. Personally I have no fault with it, but as you can tell from some of my customs I'm far more forgiving. Hell, I was trying to talk myself into being satisfied with DiD "Jack". :lol

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Dude that looks amazing. Who did the paint up on the bbkill sculpt?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Just discovered your thread buddy. How did I not know about you! Haha...amazing work. Do you take commissions?

Ha ha well now you know....yes I do take comissions but am getting close to closing the doors on them for a month or so to get caught up.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Couldn't leave well enough alone. I started some small subtle mods to the BBKill sculpt - all subtractive, so I have to be super-careful. So far I've done a little work to the nose, upper lip, chin and jaw. Needs a bit more elbow grease before I take some pics. Fingers crossed.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

They both look stellar, IMO. Who made the suit? And what body is it on?

Thank you...your the Bond master so that means alot man. The suit is a bleached toy city suit on a knock off narrow shoulder body. I padded the shoulders and removed the inner suit lining. Might remove the extra seam material inside the suit also so it fits tighter and more relaxed wrinkles I hope. Migjt take the pants up a bit when I get the boots in bond wore in that scene. Coulson tie. Toy city shirt with pinched collar. That's the recipe bud. Gotta make a earpiece still then done.

Rahmier, hope you don't mind I did a side-by-side of your two photos for easier compare.

I really like what you did. Interesting to see the two sculpts complete, dressed and together in the same suit/pose.
