Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD
Respectfully disagree.
I get what you're saying but I think Hot Toys would LOVE to put out an easy sell figure that didn't require a year of R&D and work just to figure out how to produce.
A single Connery figure (not from any particular movie), perhaps with two jackets (white and black) and the standard Bond gadgets (gun, martini glass, etc...) would be easy to produce at a significant jump in quality from the old SS figures and an easy sell.
....of course I'd buy the 1/6 Aston Martin DB5 as well but I'll take what I can get
And I don't even think HT would be interested in a 007 line at this point. Maybe a something from the new film or a one-shot DX Connery, but dudes in tuxes are not really their thing. I mean, even the most interesting Bond villain is just a guy in a suit.
When a company is making Iron Mongers and Batmobiles, crusty British spies from 30-40 years ago would be a step back.
you speak the truth!
These are the kinds of things a company like Blitzway should tackle.. well you know it won't be Bond regardless but still...
Even still the idea of a DX connery could work, they could make it a legacy sort of thing over a few movies. Give him a tux, a scuba set, the flying jat pack and maybe a goldfinger spy outfit... or maybe the Honey Rider beach outfit... and random gadgets etc. would at least be more interesting, but i'll keep living out that fantasy in my own head.
