Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Interesting,

However, the sculptor that made the one that got everyone excited no longer works for them and nor did they let them have the sculpt. Unless any other sculptor they have can do one as good then could become a case of "So what!?".

I believe they're way better than they were back then. :)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yeah they've definitely improved. I love their Patrick Bateman !

That's actually not a bad DC head on the last page!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yeah, it is that,

It may not be Roadshow, but it is their sculptor and they've shown that they can learn and improve.

The Iminime idea is a good one, but, that's all it is right now. Before it goes too much further it would perhaps be a good idea to ask Iminime what they can do. So far we've not had their input. It wouldn't be great if you got 40 or more pages of interested people only for them to say "Sorry, no can do!".

Trev would be good, but, would he want to do it for them or himself!? Forgive me for not being altogether positive, but, after previous ideas like this have failed to deliver in the end it's difficult to be optimistic anymore.

Still, I have one of the ones on the previous page reserved as a backup.....or I hope I do anyway...

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Once you have it in hand, you may re-consider the repaint. I suspect that photo is a lot darker than it should be. Every bit of white in it appears some shade of grey and it looks like the redness may also be exaggerated by the photo.

This is what 10 seconds in Lightroom does. ;) The image may not appear "correctly" if your browser doesn't support color management.

You know what? This head wouldn't make a bad base for an Archer custom. Some additional hair material, more definition in the chin cleft, slight resculpt of the eyebrows, un-wrinkle the eyes a bit, and then paint up like a cartoon (to match mt board avatar for example)

Sorry I have to say that this head is one of the more hideous looking DC sculpts. The quest continues...

I don't have much faith in iminime either u less the portrait is by Trevor grove or Adam afterall their attempt is the junk that you will currently see atop that ZCWO body.

No offense intended, but if your comment means you don't see a (very good) likeness, then it really shows that you don't have an eye for faces, sorry.

If you simply mean that you don't like the way it was sculpted, the skin blemishes, colors, etc, whatever, but do think the likeness is good, then that's another matter entirely, and a little less hyperbole would probably help everyone understand that. ;)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

No offence taken, and each to his own, but It really is a pretty piss poor likeness, in my opinion ill state to be democratic but I'd argue hard that it would be tough for many to see likeness in there. This guys likeness is hard to nail so its not the end of the world to see yet another failed attempt and its true that two of the best sculpts we have seen were not avalible and the third the Medicom, was not widely released anyway.

But the roadshow sculpt was always considered one of the poorer mass released sculpts and this one takes that and pairs it with a hairstyle that Daniel Craig has never really had as James Bond.

They sort of got the brow right but his eyes, nose jaw shape and especially his ears are totally off.

On the upper end of thigs I think that the Gestapo and feng head for things a little close but realism was off realism was close on the DID and the roadshow and whatever this is but likeness totally off and the natchan one got a little close on both but way off overall. Bbkill came pretty close but the 3d printing made his features too pointy.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I'm not sure how anyone can (ever) mention that Feng sculpt, or the DID for that matter.

This thing is far from prefect, but the likeness is there and very good, especially when compared to *all* other sculpts that have passed through here. I have no doubt that I could show these photos to absolutely anyone and have them ID Craig instantly. If they know of Daniel Craig at all that is.

BTW, the most obvious thing wrong with the hair is the hair LINE, not the style, which BTW, he did wear very similar in press shots.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Sorry, man, but there is nothing from Craig exept blue eyes and litle bit in profile.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Even the blue of the eyes is not quite right too, I definitely agree this one is a pretty big miss I actually prefer the original version which I'd rate about a 6 /10 maybe in and of itself.

I'm not sure the worst ever... Eric Sosa and Andy B are great sculptrs but theirs might have been the worst

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Actually this already happened. The movie was the Golden Compass, althought it didn't turn out to be the money farm the producers were expecting. One of the few licensed Craig figures was the one Tonner did for Golden Compass. The likeness got Tonner/Barbied up so it probably shouldn't count.

Cowboys and aliens flys under be radar but its there it's 1/6 and its actually in my opinion the best currently avalible Daniel Craog sculpt out there. It needs a repaint though.

To my knowledge besides the tonner doll the only golden compass Craig figure made was in 3 3/4 in

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I can't deny that the Medicom sculpt is nice, the major problem is finding that head loose. With others, it doesn't appear to be a problem as there are many recasts floating around. Actually getting a Medicom one that someone could even do that with seems to be a big ask too.

Of ones that are readily available the other one we've been seeing is still a standby regardless of how good or bad it may be. BBKill's is good, but, it was a limited run which either has dried up or will soon.

Somebody somewhere will nail it, the question is when!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Thinking about it more,

What other movies, besides Bond, for which you can't get a 1/6 licence for anyway, has Daniel Craig done that have done the kind of business that would make the bigger companies want to pursue a license!?

One that springs to mind is Defiance, but, you would think that HT out of anyone would have done that by now if they were ever going to. DID could have done something like it and done a sculpt, but, as with HT, they went for Inglorious Basterds instead. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo would, you would think, have been a no brainer, but, wouldn't someone would have picked it up by now!? If HT weren't so Marvel obsessed they might have been a possibility. EB, hmmm, possibly, which leaves Blitzway, now, if Arnie Kim could do a DC sculpt you'd have something..

So, unless BW or EB do Mikael Blomkvist, unlicensed is still the way to go, but by whom and for how much!?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yeah.If someone will sell to me medicom head for reasonable price it will be enough for may hapyness with may 1/6 collection ,because i'm not very rich man to bay great dolls fore 500$ or more(like Trevs Eastwood), but i want to see -yeah it's Craigs head on may figure on may shelf. From all what i sow abd have-i see Craig in two of them-medicom and start from Adams(imaresque)wip. But of curse-it's may opinion.I was absolutely in love with photos of Bbkills Craig at the begining, but now i have bought one painted and it's absolutly diferent in life...Is medicoms head big enough for custom1/6 body? Then i'l be glad to get it.

Sorry for the soft focus here and there, low light conditions, but I thought these few moody shots favored the sculpt best (besides the fact that I haven't gotten home from work while it is still light out yet). This is Leia's very first human character sculpt and I think she really did an amazing job with a very difficult subject. I am honored to be able to add this piece to my growing Bond collection. Thank you again, leia. :bow Villains rule!

I'm also very eager to see if I can sort the cream-and-bronze outfit he wore in the film on Dead Island.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Why neither HT or Enterbay picked up Bond license? Craig is the best and unique Bond up till now IMO, and will pick him up instantly if only one of those big two figure producers decided to make him :)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

You can't license what isn't available to be licensed. Apparently.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The producers categorically said a big "NO!!" to anyone doing 1/6 James Bonds. Unless a different crew come on board who are more open minded then a licensed James Bond will never happen. PERIOD!!

This was why I was pondering other Craig movies that one could actually get licenses for and there ain't many.
