Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yeah, you're dead right about Moonraker and I do agree about Twice and Goldfinger, those 2 being the only classic Bond I ever bought on DVD.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

IMHO . . . the two greatest all out battle fest within the franchise's history is from YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (ninja raid on the volcano launch bay) and THE SPY WHO LOVED ME (assault sequence by the American & British naval personnel inside the tanker). Since the latter, there really has not been a full out battle sequence in subsequent films where an all out assault in shown in detail.

I guess I should also add GOLDFINGER to the list as well, but the battle scenes outside the vault complex was far & few where it was limited to mostly Bond taking on Odd Job inside the vault.

But wait! What about the huge underwater war in THUNDERBALL? That was insane for its time.

There was also the assault on Piz Gloria in OHMSS... but I could discount that one since they didn't do too much with it.

But the "Grand Assault" was a mainstay of the old, classic Bonds thru the 60's.

:horror Every Bond film on DVD... currently buying them (as I see them) on Blu-Ray. I can't even count how many times I've watched each one.

The underwater scene in Thunderball is a masterpiece.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Well, I've seen the others so much on TV over the years there seemed little point in revisiting them. Those two were always my favourites though and I wanted to see them in full quality with surround sound.

DOH!

I can't believe I forgot about . . . THUNDERBALL!

I'll revise (in terms of my preference).

YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE
THUNDERBALL
THE SPY WHO LOVED ME

I'm not counting GOLDFINGER & MOONRAKER for obvious & previously stated reasons.

I don't consider Lazenby's film to be exceptional final battle fest wise.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Check this out, fellow colelctors.
Hopefully the final production will be good:

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The body might be ok, but, the head is definitely among the weaker Craigs out there.

You might like it though.....

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Is that the BBKill? Nice paint job. Whoever he is, maybe Daniel Craig's brother, has been spending a lot of time in the sun. ;) The paint/sculpt look better when you view all the angles, so click through to check them out in the original auction.

I don't know, it doesn't look like my head. We'll have to hope they get more in!

They seem to sell mainly videogame accessories in their store.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Confirtms my feelings that this particular sculpt isn't even close. Why does the texture of his skin look like a golf ball?

Because you're looking at a macro photograph blown up more than 3x the actual size of the sculpt and hit with some strong lighting. ;)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The Roadshow sculpt is very different at first glance, especially on the hair, but the facial area is pretty much the same. This looks like a resculpt of the hair and a repaint, with the face cast from Roadshow. I wonder if this is authorized by Roadshow or not...

I was refering to the scale of the pores in proportion to the size of the whole head. Look at your own face in a mirror. If your pores were in scale to that sculpt you would be able to stick a pencil in each one of them. I thought in another thread you said you had some art training? Texturing of 1/6th scale sculpts can look wicked cool when done correctly. This is NOT a good example of the right way to do it.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

It's just exaggerated by the lighting and macro, which is what I wrote initially. Look at the original Roadshow sculpt and paint app in my last post. Should the texture be more subdued? Sure. Is it going to be as pronounced in-hand? No.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The head is back up for sale on ebay now. I'm thinking with a repaint it could be pretty good.
