While I'm pleased that Avatar got best picture and best director, the fact that Sandra Bullock won best Actress does make that whole award ceremony a bit of a joke.

I'm glad it won stuff!

If you saw the Oprah interview on Friday too, she even brought up the story line. She herself loved it and she connected with it.
Cameron kinda brushed it side to that the story was not the best or not original etc. Even he kind of said, who ____en cares - it's connecting with people all over the world, including the female audience.
He told it in a nice way and that's all that matters.
If it wins stuff, it's gonna because it's groundbreaking new tech, telling a sweeping story that people and audiences are enjoying. A thrill ride experience back at the movies.

Thats your opinion. It obviously did deserve to win if people voted for it. Its received the most positive buzz I've seen in a movie for ages.

Hurt locker for me was so over-rated. Its realistic, well acted but I actually found it very very dull. Overall I'm pretty thrilled aboutthe winners.

I for one find Snakes Enthusiasm refreshing. In a world full of miserbale bast*rds its good to see someone so positive about things. While its not my favourite movie of all time, I can see why some people would put it at the top of thier list

People still complain about Titanic winning all the awards it did and it got mostly favorable reviews when it came out. Whenever a movie makes this much money, there will be backlash and people saying it is undeserved.

Well I think it deserved the awards, because it's a game changer when it comes to 3D.
I want to see Up in the air though, I hear great things about that movie.

it's not the money, I just feel it doesnt deserve best picture, or best director. Well....I dont know, I might let best director slide. I do love Cameron. But he won already so....feh.

It deserved EVERY single penny it got. It's a fantastic film. It's what a movie going experience should be. But it aint perfect.

I have no problem with that. I admitted I was wrong. I was right about it depending on what kind of drops it would have in terms of box office. I was just wrong in that I thought the box office would drop after the first week, yet it really hasn't dropped at all, and probably won't for a while since it will be picking up award nominations.
