AMAZING !!!

SHE IS SO HOT !
AVATAR FTW !

It is very hard to compare established franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek to something new like Avatar. Star Trek was considered a failure and got canceled, but fans kept it alive and helped mold it into the force it is now. Star Wars was a monster from the get go and has done very well over the years, but even it went into semi-hibernation before Kenner released the new toys and the movies were re-released in theaters.

The big question with Avatar is if it will connect with younger generations... maybe this (if it gets translated into more films and even TV) could be a big winner with kids. This is a film that has enough going for it that it could likely be whored out in everyway possible :lecture

Like I said earlier. My 7 year old nephew sat through the whole thing and didn't say a peep really. He stopped to ask me a couple questions. He didn't understand why the humans were blowing up the tree. I told him it was because they were being bad. :lol

Good example... that's a lot of movie and if it can grab kids attention it could have some real staying power.

Future projects:
Cartoon series... follow the adventures of Jake and Neytiri as the explore the world of Pandora.
Cereal... the milk turns blue!!!
Avatar Legos... build the world of Pandora

Yeah all in all he enjoyed it. He then tried to talk like the Navi on the way home. LOL!

James Cameron is a great person? Because of that speech? Come on. He very well may be a *******. Tiger Woods was a "great person" until about a month-and-a-half ago.

Never underestimate the ability of famous people to disappoint in private behavior and personality. Fame seems to have a particular attraction to egomaniacs, narcissists, and self-centered whack-jobs.

A successful movie no matter how big, does not always mean it will become as successful when it comes to merchandise for kids.

Take the last Star Trek movie

That's why for the most part I could give a damn about the personal lives of celebrities. I either like or don't like what the produce based on the work; not how many mistresses they have or if they don't pay their taxes.

Hahaha gotta love kids! :rotfl

I use to quote Jabba the Hutt all the time as a kid. Someone might ask me a question, and I'd respond with a Huttese line of dialogue. Freaked people out.

I'm with you on that, with a few exceptions. If somebody is particularly slimy, obnoxious, or offputting personally ... it can color my judgment of their work.

Either that, or if their politics are so bad to the point that it is distracting. Most celebrities disagree with me politically, and I don't mind it -- but when their political nonsense is more visible than their work, that isn't good.

Rosie O'Donnell, for instance. I can't really watch Keith Olbermann's NFL coverage anymore, either ...

This happens all the time.

Remember Woopi Goldberg getting the award for Ghost (but actually was for The Color Purple)?

Cameron has transcended this phenomenon. His last 2 movies are atop the highest grossing of all-time and raked in tons of awards... but they're nowhere near his best work. Just his most popular. Because people, as a whole, are proles.

Personally, I think this might ruin him. He's going to be stuck in pseudo Cameron-Disney mode from here on out. The last movie he made that was pure, honest, and fun... was TRUE LIES. That was nearly 16 years ago.

The James Cameron that made ALIENS, the first two TERMINATOR movies and THE ABYSS is likely dead, replaced by a narcissistic Hollywood money maestro who makes films for the family-friendly mainstream first.

It's hilarious how this thread has evolved:

- People excited about a few concept images
- People underwhelmed with the teaser
- People excited with Sideshow's AMP suit
- People underwhelmed with the official trailer
- People excited with Avatar Day trailer

Movier comes out:

- Everybody saying it's a cinematic masterpiece that will revolutionize cinema
- A few people saying it's average
- A lot of people saying it's unoriginal
- People claiming repeat viewings
- People complaining about "Avatards"
- People complaining about "Haters"
- It's a Pocahontas rip-off
- It's not as good
- It's an amazing achievement
- "Wow, check this forum with Avatar weirdos"
- 'Those guys are crazy"
- Avatar is racist
- Liking Avatar is not cool anymore...
- Cameron is a d-ck
- Cameron is a sell-out

:lol:lol:lol
