I'm surprised that people are so eager to pass on the theatrical edition in favor of an extended version (unless the sex scene really is that important to see.) I'll be the first to admit how awesome the movie was but Avatar isn't The Lord of the Rings with important scenes from the original source material left on the cutting room floor.

And with the exception of The Abyss all of Cameron's extended cuts have been inferior to their theatrical counterparts (T2 and Aliens.)

We all have something to bring to this discussion. But I think from now on the thing you should bring is your silence.

All ya gotta do is buy this one now, like LOTR trilogy, then when the new one comes out, that's when you sell it to a friend, or be generous and pass it along to a family member. I always give my parents or sisters my hand me downs, when I upgrade something lol

Except what you bring to this thread is Lame ass jokes that would probably be funny if we were still in school. You didn't like the movie that's fine but why spend time in this thread knocking it you hated it so much. James Cameron would be glad you don't like it because he'd like to think someone with your mentality wasted thier money on it.

I would love a longer version. I didnt mind the length at all. Never bothered me. I just wish there was a better, more original story, and characters.

Anyway, if a movie has NO special features, I dont want it. I want to know how they did everything. It helps me learn.

I'm the same, the more behind the scenes stuff a dvd/blu-ray has, the more I like it.

I'm waiting for November, but not for an extended cut (though I wouldn't mind that... if it's good...) but for the extras. and you just know there's a ____ load of extras that they'll have for this film!! :rock

I didn't actually love the film. Only saw it once and don't particuarly feel compelled to watch it again but to jump on the bandwagon and bash it so you can aim to be part of some elite crew is sad as ____

If anyone is interested, in the Commerce section I listed some of the AVATAR signed cast posters I aquired directly from Fox.

Avatar was great in certain parts of the movie.
I didn't like the end at all although
i find it seek for someone to choose a fake avatar body
over his real body because the new body offered him new possibilities and watch himself dead through avatar's eyes...it's like you get addicted and afterwards you deny your human nature to transform to a gigantic smurf
imagine if neo would choose permanetely to stay connected to matrix because in the system was superhuman
also avatar's story remind me cowboys and indians...
But again through certain parts it was great...

Think u missed the point. Jake was ashamed because of the destructive nature of humans. Also he fell in love with the navi way of life

You gotta be kidding, why would anyone want to watch a longer version?

The one in November is supposed to be extended, whether it is or not, I have no idea, but if I'm going to buy this, I want the best copy I can get.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple.

Same here. Granted, I don't think this is the best movie of 2009, but I liked it and want a good copy of it, not a bare bones one.

a clone avatar body with the nerve system of his brother is real?
it's like a copy paste of all the data of his life and put it in another compatible system. it's like an upgrade of an old pc to a new super one .so if we are talking only about machines that the only things that they have got is data is ok
