No way! Ask any Avatard and they will tell you that it was completely original. :lecture

Actually no, not a single fan of the movie has ever stated that, at least not here, nice try though.

The movie rocks but I do admit it is kind of fun to see how many other movies/shows share similar themes.

Here's another blast from the past that shows up in Avatar:

Micronians must wear robotic suits to do battle against giant blue aliens. :D

I actually did get some brief glimpses of Avatar when I was watching the Secret of Nimh a few weeks ago.

Not as similar as some of the others (Dances with Wolves and Ferngully) but there were similar flavors.

Although in this case I do chalk it up to more of a universal themes situation than direct inspiration.

Nice. :rock A Don Bluth classic that is definitely worthy of a spin every few years.

I actually think there's more Nimh in Avatar than Dances with Wolves and Pocahontas (because of the sci-fi/high technology slant) but I do agree about the universal themes.

I'll still get it. As long as the movie is there intact, using the maximum space of the disc for video and sound and is a blu ray technical marvel, then I'll get it. I'm not going to skip out because it doesn't have making of videos.

Same here. I don't mind double-dipping, especially considering the next release is in November. I hope that having no extras would mean initially this won't cost as much as some other newly released blu-rays.

It looks like it's regular price but also comes with the DVD copy which I guess is how they're justifying the full price without extras.

Although it's nice to have both

Oh, Avatards...

Edit to point out that this was actually posted by the OFFICIAL Avatar Facebook page.

I didn't find anyplace that has a freebie with it so I'll pass. I can wait till November for the extended.

I never watch that extra crap anyway. :lol

I don't normally, either, but with the technological wonder that is Avatar, I'm interested.

You're right, I didn't even think to check prices. And I do like having the DVD, too.
