Nice! Can't wait. Only reason it even left 3D theatres was because Alice in Wonderland knocked it out. And it wasn't even good and the 3D was crap and was done post production.
Can't wait to see it one more time in 3D, with the new footage, then get the Blu Ray special edition for the holiday season :)

This will only be out in 3D and there's no way I'm shelling out that much to see 8 more minutes.

Now in a month or two, he'll release Avatar on disc with the 8 minutes added, then he'll release another version near Christmas.

James Cameron has recently been talking up next week's 'Special Edition' release of "Avatar" in select theatres and revealed to Entertainment Weekly that his recent trip to South America changed some of the story he has planned for the sequel.

Cameron tells the mag he held a special screening of the film for the Amazonian tribal community the Achuar. After the screening, the BBC interviewed a tribal elder who said “In this movie, they solved their problems by fighting. We are not afraid to fight, but we have decided to try to solve our problems through dialogue. So this movie needs a better message." Cameron said "I felt like I’d been punk’d. But it made me think."
:lol

That elder deserves his own movie review show.

I was gonna wait until the Blu-ray came out later in the year, but I have to say the chance to see this again on a big screen in 3D is too tempting, add in extra scenes and I'm there.

(also, doesn't hurt when your wife sees the trailer and goes "ooh... should we go see that again?" :lol

I sense some Avatar role playing in your bedroom after the movie. I'll let you know when we're done.

Just read a Cameron Interview about the new 8min edition, but he also stated that another (longer) extended edition will be released, not sure if this will be the December one.
