If you are one of those that is really pumped for the film- I urge you to watch this youtube video of these 3 guys from Revision 3 talk about it and review it after seeing it. Not in IMAX but a normal screen in REALD 3D

Its a 20 minute segment at the beginning as they review many things including games

Avatar is up for Best Drama.
Cameron is up for Director.

Not sure if there are more.


I've already got two showings lined up, so I'll be seeing it two times for sure. But probably three, when I take my Gf's kids.

Exactly-if you dont care about it-then it shouldnt ruin the experience for you as it plays while you are walking out- I actually heard it doesnt start till 30 seconds after the end


BTW- Cameron is up for best director yes, but one of his contenders is his EX wife...duh duh duuuuuh!

Character designs suck in this movie IMO and from what i heard from the soundtrack, its Celine Dion all over again but, worse this time..that being said the love story in this is really good apparently, it will be a great movie for sure just i can't get into the look of the characters.I would have loved to instead see Cameron save the Terminator franchise from being run into the ground.

Buuuut Celine Dion had one song in 'Titanic' and it was at the end of the film as credits rolled, soooo I personally wouldn't take such a song as an indicator of an entire score of a film. The 'Titanic' score was vastly different compared to the Celine Dion song.

That said, the credit roll song for 'Avatar' is very ho hum and not my cup of tea. Hopefully the score is good (I've heard good things), it's been a pretty dry year of good film scores, so I'm hoping for some good ear candy in the theater.

Its been a dry year for movies for myself. Ok flicks but nothing to write home about.

DON'T WATCH unless you need further convincing as this probably is full of quick spoiler scenes but someone on marketsaw said this was in their opinion the best TV spot of any movie ever- I havent seen it and dont intend to.

high ratings on RT, great words of mouth, nominations for best picture & best director, and yet some people still think we are just a bunch of cameron's ball sniffers. if you cant get excited of the film by now, i truly feel sorry for you. maybe movies are just not your thing.

Granted, I haven't seen the movie so don't know the whole story line yet, but I find it complete BS (from what I know of the story) that he says that they are fighting for their survival. They AREN'T fighting for their survival, they are fighting for some crazy resource on Pandora that makes life simpler for humans and makes people rich. They could just leave if they wanted to. I am excited to see the film, but I feel like I already know the story, word-for-word, the bad guys and the good, and what happens in the end. And who dies. But I guess the same can be said for Titanic - it's what Cameron did with it that made it a success. It will be interesting to see how this pans out amongst the 'general audiences' not internet film geeks like us
