So no, Im not seeing an agenda in Mr Moms videos and Im coming at this from the outside as someone with ZERO stakes or interest in this drama.
Whereas Joost literally has an agenda with real financial stakes in undermining Mr Mom, and folks like him, negative takes on his products - something to consider.
So the name calling, the vitriol, the genuine hatred I am seeing here for someone who seems to have had a ****** experience buying a product does seem to confirm quite a bit of the behavior he is calling out.
But again, you dont need to take his word for it - Joost himself had to call out this behavior on his Facebook page
Which is why I find it so disappointing to see him encourage it here.

Ive bought from Jazzinc before, I love the ones I have, and I may very well buy from him again - but not because of brand loyalty or some other emotional ties but because I like the product, if I ever recieve a product from them I am not happy with I will call it out.
Same with Hot Toys, same with Inart, same with any company.
We are not fans.

Joost didn't encourage any name calling or vitriol here, he merely pointed out that this guy hasn't even bothered to contact Jazzinc for a remedy (component or complete vehicle replacement), instead preferring to bash the product on social media. Like you, I've purchased from Jazzinc before (4 previous orders) and had nothing but superb customer service, so rather than listen to some stranger spouting off on YouTube I'm basing my decision on my own experiences with them as well as all the information that Joost has openly shared with us.

The one thing that is new here vs. past products is the China factory, so I could see how something like the paint finish consistency might vary more vs. say the 1966 vehicle as it's not likely that someone from Joost's team is there to inspect each and every one of them. Fingers crossed mine arrives looking pristine but if there is an issue in this area, I'm confident that Joost will go the extra mile to correct it in order to maintain his company's reputation with respect to quality & customer satisfaction.
 
Personally I’m in Europe and I expect mine will be shipped from Netherlands.
The question is, are the cars shipped from Netherlands are automatically checked before shipping where there is maybe less control from the ones directly shipped from China?

Okay, I dont have any skin in this game, never ordered this Batmobile though I was on the waitlist for a while - but I watched those videos and read those comments folks are talking about and frankly I agree with this Mr Mom guy [whose videos I literally only learned about a few months ago].

The paint and plastic warping issues are bad, no one should be grateful to recieve a product that is anything less than in mint and perfect condition especially at this price point. I also agree that its odd and off putting that it arrives so filthy.
The fact that this was his second car with the same amount of issues isnt great and he is right to complain and include that experience in his reviews - its being honest.
These may not be deal-breakers to any of you, but it will be for some people and more to the point the man paid money for a product he isnt happy with and he has every right to say so.

And as for Catwoman, as @dominishin rightly states, it ISNT normal for a figure to be by design so different from its prototype to its final product. The body will be entirely different, yes you may say better - but that is an assumption being made based on faith and nothing more, there will be a PERS system implemented on the heads and we all here know that PERS can alter a likeness depending on how its executed, the Battle-Damaged suit shown in the protos will be different on the final product, the claws shown in the proto pics are the full metal custom ones which will not be implemented in the final product....
This is not normal and its not unreasonable to call it out.
Yes folks here like to research and keep up on such things but again it is NOT a reasonable assumption to say everyone who is buying this figure is aware of all this, after all this figure has supposedly sold incredibly well in all the shops its available - I doubt every one of those customers are either here or on the Facebook group reading all the right posts to learn this information.

As for calling his criticisms of the Catwoman pre-order model, wherein the prototype shown will be entirely different from the one finally sold, "deranged" or "absurd" is displaying the EXACT cult like behavior he describes, its just a completely irrational and emotional based response to attack someone who, and again I will quote you directly here, "slander" Joost/Jazzinc.
This is no different from the Hot Toys fanatics or Inart fanatics who act like those companies can do no wrong and seem to get personally offended if someone says they are not happy about one of those companies or challenges one of their buisness practices.
These are companies selling expensive movie dolls and accessories to adults, they are not your friends - you are their customers, you owe them no loyalty and you certainly dont need to white knight on their behalf and make criticism of the products impossible or a toxic environment.
Im on Jazzincs Facebook group and it gets extremely toxic, as in positive toxicity, to the extent Joost himself had to call attention to it.

@Mike86 is right - if another company had the kind of issues we see with Jazzinc you wouldnt hear the end of it, but people play favourites and sometimes they let Inart or Hot Toys get away with shoddy execution or sometimes they rake them over the coals for the smallest perceived faults, as customers we need to be objective and fair there is no good reason for this to become tribal.

And as buisness models go - yes I agree with the voting in the Facebook group criticisms, its like @ZE_501 calls it - inaccurate sampling.
I've participated in voting because its exciting and makes you feel included, but on retrospect its just not worth doing for all the problems it causes.

It’s a fake outrage, I’m sure Joost would send him 5 batmobiles to get it right, instead he’s using YT vid to spread falsehoods that everyone is dumping on me and I need to defend myself. While in reality no one gives a ****.

This is his MO, every other vid is a complaint that he’s not getting the in crowd treatment. It’s working for him up around 250k subs now off of angry toy raging, which is pretty funny.

On a positive note, got my badge today. Number 438.

You know, it's ok, this is part of the territory and almost everyone knows not to take this guy too seriously. Got one cancellation (and 14 more people added to the waitlist)
I agree that guys like him are generally click-farmers and not operating in good faith; and as I said above, we all want you to win for the obvious reasons, but of course everyone has their own tolerance for possible QC issues, price points etc.

It sounds like you're addressing everything on a case-by-case basis but so far, what it looks like from the outside -- is that you're running into growing pains in your manufacturing stream. Or is it just a numbers game for ... small-to-medium batch production? (This assuming a much smaller scale than big mainstream companies).

It's great that you're willing and able to address customer issues so no need to beat that dead horse, but I do have a question:

The difficulty of operating at a geographical remove from the factory floor is a given, but are the people you're partnering with overseas learning and growing with you, i.e. is it a longer term collaboration with potential for ongoing improvement? Or do you use many different contractors for each project and have to build new relationships accordingly?

This is my main issue with him. Hate the fake “I tell it like it is!” kind of people who only turn to this style of content after they can’t cut it like others are able to. You can’t even criticize them because they’ll say you’re part of the Inart, HT, or now Jazzinc cult.

What a tater tot that guy is. Don’t care for much of the toy YT’ers, but Mr. Mom Collectibles is at the top of my “Boo” list.

I don't disagree with everything Mr Mom said, but one thing that doesn't get mentioned much is that Jazzinc tries to remedy the situation (free replacements) without their customers incurring any more cost which is I think is amazing customer service. I've never bought any Jazzinc products except the Catwoman on PO but I'd be lying if I wasn't a bit skeptical of the final product. At the same time some expectations are set because they're a relatively smaller and inexperienced company, just like HT back in the day I'm sure would've made tons of mistakes/QC issues.

But I don't understand why test 89 batmobiles were sent in the first place unless they were meant to be the final product? As a test was the purpose suppose to be for a small group to review and inform Jazz so then can be sent another batch later? If so, Mr Mom was wrong to review a test sample. I think any test samples should never have been sent in the first place.

In my opinion its a newer companies thing, Inart is very guilty of this as well. They are proud of the product they created and want to share and drive interest. Joost is now building a brand and business, so the reason to get it out there was to drum up conversation. He did have the Catwoman pre-orders coming out so to build brand trust the hope is to release to influencers and get people excited for his products.

Unfortunately, if you send the products to the wrong influencers, this can damage the brand and place you on the defense. This is turning into a splash hobby right now and its just a marketing strategy to think about.

As for his Catwoman, I do have the only figure he put out so far, The Vulture. It did not have a sculpt, but the cut and sew was very quality and Hot Toys like. The actual accessories are better than what Hot Toys would create with movable engineering, so he did go exta mile with that.

This Catwoman will be a challenge and its probably best that he starts to back away from community driven work since its becoming a detriment with the scale he has started to achieve. If he wants to improve anything going forward it can be a surprise like any other company does. Take the feedback on socials to see what folks are saying about prototypes and integrate where possible.

Hot Toys just corrected this figure over the weekend, it is not uncommon to correct prototypes for the betterment of the offering.

Slow work day here so ended up watching to the Mr Mom video about the cult of Jazzinc. 40 mins later I am just as uninformed about the ins and outs of YT reviewers and who said what and who is right but I love the drama of it all!

It comes across like the Real Housewives of YouTube, but with all the plastic in doll form not injected into their faces.

What an amazingly insular world of self importance by all parties involved getting worked up over toys.

Agree with some of what you say - but not all. I think you're overlooking the fact that Mr Mom has more skin in the game than simply being the recipient of two cars from Jazzinc that he's had issues with. He's a YouTuber, whose videos make him money. Once you're financially incentivised then you also "literally have an agenda with real financial stakes" - clicks and likes and subs and interaction earns you money, so it makes sense to make videos that people watch, and what better way to do that than post either beautifully shot content, or in the case of Mr Mom, post ANGRY and FURIOUS content?

Taking Mr Mom's views as honest and fair and unbiased is as dangerous as taking the manufacturer's word as gospel - both have skin in the game, so it's important to look beyond the words and the passion and see what lies underneath.

On the one hand you have a guy who bought a prototype, knowing (having been explicitly told by the manufacturer) that it wasn't a finalised version - that it would have early issues that would be resolved during production. Nevertheless, he paid for it, so you can expect it to have a decent level of QC. On finding himself unhappy with it, Jazzinc replaced the model at no charge. So far so good. However, Mr Mom has shown himself to be unhappy with the replacement - the dust I think we can dispense with, as that seems a minor (and odd) issue, but he had some real concerns with the gun turrets.

Now, at this point, a true (normal) customer would reach out to the manufacturer with some photos and a request for assistance... And this is where it gets murky. He didn't do that. He opened the replacement (very oddly, very strangely) in a storage facility, almost like he was expecting issues. You or I, we'd have been opening that up with kid gloves, in our dens or lounges or kitchens, excited to see what you'd hope would be a perfect model. So, spidey sense tingling a bit at this point of the video. What he doesn't do - Joost has confirmed and Mr Mom has also confirmed - is reach out to the manufacturer. No, what he does is post a video on YouTube. Then another one. All taking aim at Jazzinc, and latterly, Jazzinc's fans.

He dismisses anyone who defends Jazzinc of being either a "shill" or a "cult member" (again, his words). He pours gasoline on the flames by posting a really quite unnecessary YouTube diatribe reiterating his belief that Jazzinc's business model is wrong, its fans are toxic, its engagement with its customers as deeply flawed - at this point it all gets a bit vendetta-ish.

And on the other hand you have Jazzinc. We've already seen they shipped out a replacement, free of charge. That replacement has the issues we see in Mr Mom's videos - but I have to ask, how would Jazzinc know that, how could Jazzinc respond and deal with that, if the customer doesn't tell them? If the first they hear of it is via YouTube and via forums like this, where it's shared?

Mr Mom's anger is understandable - his actions are not. This thing costs a lot - with shipping you're looking at about £1500 / $2000. For that you expect something to arrive in perfect condition, and when it doesn't, you get support from the manufacturer - that's normal operating procedure - it's how we've all had to deal with issues we've had with models or figures. Now, if Mr Mom had done that, and Jazzinc had turned round and done nothing more than shrug, you'd have a reason to be pissed, but Jazzinc weren't contacted. We've heard from Jazzinc that they'd have replaced the turrets or the whole car ... if they'd been contacted.

If we "remove the anger and remove the ego", what you have is someone who got a sub-par product, then chose to post videos (plural) on YouTube (where he gets rewarded financially) attacking the manufacturer and the fanbase, rather than reach out to customer services.

And on the other hand you have Jazzinc. We've already seen they shipped out a replacement, free of charge. That replacement has the issues we see in Mr Mom's videos - but I have to ask, how would Jazzinc know that, how could Jazzinc respond and deal with that, if the customer doesn't tell them? If the first they hear of it is via YouTube and via forums like this, where it's shared?

Mr Mom's anger is understandable - his actions are not. This thing costs a lot - with shipping you're looking at about £1500 / $2000. For that you expect something to arrive in perfect condition, and when it doesn't, you get support from the manufacturer - that's normal operating procedure - it's how we've all had to deal with issues we've had with models or figures. Now, if Mr Mom had done that, and Jazzinc had turned round and done nothing more than shrug, you'd have a reason to be pissed, but Jazzinc weren't contacted. We've heard from Jazzinc that they'd have replaced the turrets or the whole car ... if they'd been contacted.

If we "remove the anger and remove the ego", what you have is someone who got a sub-par product, then chose to post videos (plural) on YouTube (where he gets rewarded financially) attacking the manufacturer and the fanbase, rather than reach out to customer services.

Some well made points here, I agree with some of what you're saying.
