We won’t know until they release their first figure. They could be either an InArt, or a Molecule8.
Thank you for answering my question. I've a much better understanding on your pricing and positioning now, and it's completely reasonable.Actually, that is a great question! So, in terms of positioning, we really want to shoot for inart, while retaining the best of hot toys. As for pricing, we are limited by our sales numbers. That has the biggest influence on price, because our overhead is very low, and even the people who are reselling our Using the lowest margin possible, which is why I can say that while you spend almost the same amount as a hot toys, artisan piece, there is much more money going in, with extra head, sculpts, a custom seamless body, and a much more limited edition piece. For instance, we know that the absolute minimum run for hot toys is 10,000 pieces, with most of them being much higher, especially Batman stuff. So, with 2500 units sold on Catwoman we are making 10% of that, it’s even more limited edition than a typical artisan run and that is what increases the price because we make the same molds that they do, but we can use them much less. Also, with a hot toys, artisan piece, you don’t get an extra head sculpt, let alone two, and no custom seamless body as well. If you compare our prices to inart, they are very much the same, even though I think there we also offer more for the same price, simply because our margins are by far the lowest in the business and we Don’t have to pay a lot of wholesale and distributors to get our products to the end customer which saves you a lot of money.
Plus, if you compare 2500 units sold of our Catwoman versus their ledger joker which sold over 10,000 pieces, again you are getting much more limited edition stuff
Is this a certain fact and mentioned anywhere? For instance, we know that the absolute minimum run for hot toys is 10,000 pieces, with most of them being much higher, especially Batman
I know because their suppliers asked me for 10,000 minimumsIs this a certain fact and mentioned anywhere?
Most people outside of Hong Kong don't know how ordering Hot Toys locally works, but whenever a new figure is announced (e.g. Nicepool) locals can preorder at their bases, or on their eshop (not accessible outside HK). What I always wondered was how long are Hot Toy's preorder windows because at some point without warning the figure will be removed from preorder and if you wanted it but didn't preorder then you'd hope they have extra stock when it releases in a year's time. Hot Toys staff won't tell you the minimum run for their figures, apparently each one has a different quota, and when its met the preorders close.
Darth Maul 2.0 closed in a few months, the BvS Batman 2.0 was long around 10 months before closing, but the Feral Predator can still be preordered right now even though expected release here in HK was Q4 2024! This leads me to believe that PO windows that are still active means its either not selling well or has a higher quota which isn't met yet, and as it gets closer to release despite how much is sold, they will just cut the production to amount of preorders.
You have seen my Iron Scavenger. No issues even though it was too tough for Hot Toys and Molecule8 took money and ran, we never did thatWe won’t know until they release their first figure. They could be either an InArt, or a Molecule8.
feasibleness, but licensing for just one product would be a nightmare@JazzInc I’m in the market for a 1/6 scale Harley Davidson or at least a generic motorcycle. Would that be feasible for you to produce?
If you could find a way around the licensing that would amazing. Nowhere sells a 1/6 motorbike (briefly researched) except model kits which I don’t count.feasibleness, but licensing for just one product would be a nightmare
I know because their suppliers asked me for 10,000 minimums
