Dredd was great, and i really enjoyed the character, even though the movie underperformed from all the positive reviews and apparently its selling out at some places mabey it will do good on dvd & blu ray sales, i wouldnt count out a sequel just yet.

I finally watched this last night. I am kicking myself for not seeing it in the theater. Dredd is great! I was skeptical I will admit, but the praise this thing is getting is warranted. How this did not make more money I will never know especially with all the horrible action movies that have been released.

My BB had only 2 copies left of the Blu-ray. I am sure word of mouth will spread and we might get a sequel. I hope. Karl Urban is Dredd. He needs a franchise.

I finally watched this last night. I am kicking myself for not seeing it in the theater. Dredd is great! I was skeptical I will admit, but the praise this thing is getting is warranted. Coulda used you guys when it was actually out in theaters!

What theaters? In this whole country there was like two theaters where it was seens only couple of times. And the situation was almost equally bad in many other countries as well. So much for marketing this one. I would have liked to watch it in theater, but that possibility was not offered.

No wonder the movie was financially a flop. Though it was IMO a really good movie and millions of times better than some michael bay or twilight ****. But I suppose it is the box office figure, that tells if some movie is good or not.

But a good interpretation of Dredd, even though this was a bit low key movie (compared to some other comic movies). Though at least this one worked a lot better than that afwul Stallone version. Urban really delivered it.

That's the best. I used to do this all the time. Turn up the sound. I just could not stop the movie as it would burn the film.


It's also really good if take someone with you. Hint, Hint....

Before anyone ask. I used to put the movie together. I was the only person there 12/3am. Turn on the popcorn machine (I still have it), rade the candy, etc.

This happen to me. My GF wanted to see Twilight a 2nd time. It's all good as she never really asked. When back the next day and it was gone. She did make it up to me. She gave me the 3D the other day.

I watched it last night. It was worth the rental IMO. Not as great as I expected from all of the praise in this thread, but it was good...again IMO.

Well now, you might be like "So?"

But then? No one expected ANYTHING good. And it well exceeded exceptions what it set out to do.

It's a straight forward action movie that doesn't go into stupid territory, it stays on track the entire time, and doesn't rely on making Dredd some well rounded deep character. He's just Judge Dredd.

If you love Paul Vernhoven action films, 80's action films in general, you'll love Dredd. If you don't.....well, no reason to watch it then.

Why does that hurt the movie?


That makes it better. It's a linear story that doesn't deviate from it's own goal.


It's refreshing.

Saw it. Didnt mind it. Enjoyed it, but nothing special as far as storytelling goes.
Urban did good, and Dredd looked a lot better than the Stallone version.
