I figured this would happen. The only reason a lot of us praised it is the fact it's such a solid movie.

Most movies today are kind of squishy. They're a solid mass, but they have a lot parts that aren't as held together as they should.

Dredd is just a fully solid motion picture from beginning to end.

Plus, for a movie that was being made for 3 years, the fact it was so good was really great.

I enjoyed the film so three stores to secure a copy was worth it. While it had a few hiccups, I enjoyed the "style", Urban as Dredd and overall what the movie presented onscreen....

I might rent this tonight to see if it's as bad as I'm expecting with all these high scores floating around this site.

Oh come on... you can tighten your scrotum right back up after watching.

Everyone was at twilight part 2.

Well now, you might be like "So?"

But then? No one expected ANYTHING good. And it well exceeded exceptions what it set out to do.

It's a straight forward action movie that doesn't go into stupid territory, it stays on track the entire time, and doesn't rely on making Dredd some well rounded deep character. He's just Judge Dredd.

If you love Paul Vernhoven action films, 80's action films in general, you'll love Dredd. If you don't.....well, no reason to watch it then.

That was it for me. I was expecting a **** film to be honest. I was really happy that they kept the action tight, the characters grounded (when they weren't falling 200 storeys), and the setting was a dystopia with enough present-day roots to keep me immersed and entertained. In other words they filled in alot of details about the inner workings of this new future. Dredd was a perfect tour guide.

Saw it. Didnt mind it. Enjoyed it, but nothing special as far as storytelling goes.
Urban did good, and Dredd looked a lot better than the Stallone version.

That's all it had to do.

No the U.S version is locked to region A. We can get the U.K release which is due out in the next few days I think because that is region B.

Damn. The UK blu-ray seems to be missing some good featurettes based on the reviews I've read. The Aussie version doesn't come out until March.

This was okay, but I wanted more of the world of Judge Dredd.

You know, we could've, if you went to see it.

So we'll probably get a smaller film, if anything, in the sequel.

Yup, but most player don't seem to care. I have all 3D LG players. I can play everything.

We just got Dredd on blu ray. I put it in and for some reason it wasn't working (this on our PS3).

So I popped it out, put in LOTR EE. It worked. Put in TDK, it worked. Put in Avengers, it worked. So then I decided to take Dredd back. I got a new one, popped it in, same problem.

These were bought from Target, am I missing something?

I had a similar problem with The Expendables. I had to take it back three times before the dang thing worked (P3 software was updated as well).....The same clerk was at the counter each time giving me the uh-huh right look

Could be a bad code. Get it from another place. This happened with a disc for my daughter. I took the tv show back. But in the end. I got it from another place and it works.
