Ordered this right after Indy. This will be the only piece I get from this line as its my top scene from JP and the T-Rex is my favorite Dino.

Oh come on, how about the T-Rex and Spinosaurus fight from JP3!!!! That will hopefully be a fraking huge maquette!!!! You hear me SSC, I will need it to be at least 2 feet high.

I think the teeth are fine, could maybe be a hair, only a hair bigger, but the JP Rex had a small ammount of shorter teeth at the front of the upper jaw, which are the only teeth showing, with the rest of the teeth scaling larger and peaking about midway back in the mouth, then scaling back down to small where the jaws meet, and all of those teeth are hidden by the raptor body.

No, the teeth really are too short and even.

You should already be able to see the change in length in the teeth before they reach the raptor being bitten into.

It's not totally inaccurate as it is now, the rest of the sculpt is pretty spot on.

I think it came out looking pretty good overall. Just can't get into the dios, though. I guess I'll wait for the maquette, if Sideshow ever makes one.

So it looks like they went with the lost world color scheme for the raptors I think. It looks good and ordered!

That above pic was a promotional image and is somewhat misleading due to the light reflection and angle, what are actually two teeth from different angles appear to blend.

Granted, it's not that better of an angle, but it can help elucidate tooth size, which again would appear larger on the sides due to sheer anatomy. With every piece you're going to hear of discrepancies, but I think it's quite magnificent, particularly for the size of the diorama. I may have to revoke my complaint about the painting on the T.rex skull in time, being that it's only one side of this particular display piece that has the problem while the other side is fine. Time will tell, I'm sure

Weren't the JP 1 and 2 Raptors the same cholor scheme? I thought only the odd abominations they came up with for JP3 were variations. Granted they were only toys, but my Hasbro Raptors from JP1 were colored like the ones in this dio.

For the most part, the only dioramas I get of JP will feature the Rex, so hopefully they'll be diverse enough I won't have to be too choosy. I really hope they do some dio based on the first encounter with the Rex. I love T-Rex, favorite dinosaur and that first scene with it was everything I coudl hope for. The views of it, the roaring, I was just a blown away 10 year old having the time of his life. Juvenile Rex from Hasbro was my first toy from the movie, I still have it and the adult.

It probably will be just thrown in there. From what I remember of the scene, it was shown free-floating in the air. So the intent for this scaled version is, IMO, one of two options:

1) Toss it on the base (which is what ended up happening in the movie

2) Drap it on the dinosaurs as one sees fit (probably be my approach if I can still afford it at processing time)

In terms of how it's packaged, hopefully it's put in some kind of protective sleeve.

You have a good point.:D

Slightly off-topic. Seeing that image makes me remember how the creatures of Jurassic Park are still the best and most realistic CGI creatures in the history of cinema. No other creature, before or after, compares. Maybe Transformers has done something similar, but they're not biological creatures, so that doesn't count.

I beleive the ones for JP1 were just a sigle grayish color while the raptors in the lost world were redish with the black.

I agree, the CGI in JP was perfect IMO. 1993 and nothing has come close since!

You are right about Transformers too, besides JP, it has been the only film to have almost perfect CGI.

I actually don't feel that way. I still don't feel like any CGI living creature has been very believeable. They come close, but there is always something about their movement that seems too smooth or something. The detail and all is great, so in stills they look beautiful for sure, but something about the movement of them always screams CGI, especially in JP where you have the animatronic dinosaurs that feel more alive in their movement because there is an actual skeletal/muscular system of sorts that has to move everything, where CGI just says move and it moves with no resisting, working structure beneath.

What about the new King Kong?

No one has seen a real life dinosaur, so I think we can be a little forgiving when we see a weird animation here or there in JP.
